Romeo Beckham is making a move into film, swapping the football field and fashion campaigns for his first acting role in a new French drama that is already drawing attention.
The 23-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham has joined the cast of Forty Love, a tennis-themed coming-of-age story set in Paris and directed by photographer and filmmaker Pierre-Ange Carlotti in his feature debut.
It is a notable change of direction for Romeo and comes as the Beckham family continues to attract interest for reasons beyond their careers.
Alongside Romeo, Forty Love also stars Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin.

Romeo plays an enigmatic new challenger who enters the life of Sacha Gallo, a young tennis talent chasing Grand Slam success while being pushed by his father and coach.
But the story goes beyond competition on the court.
The synopsis suggests Romeo’s character brings a disruption that has little to do with sport and everything to do with emotion.
“For the first time, he faces an opponent of an entirely different nature, love,” the description teases. “A force as exhilarating as it is destabilising, and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”
Producer Hugo Selignac has called the film a “sensual, romantic and deeply moving coming-of-age story”, highlighting Carlotti’s visual approach and the emotional weight of the project.
The film is now in post-production and is set to arrive in France on 25 November 2026, with early interest building around Romeo’s screen debut.
Before turning to acting, Romeo had already explored several different industries.

He spent time pursuing football, featuring in the setup at Fort Lauderdale CF, now known as Inter Miami II, as well as Brentford F.C. Reserves. He also trained in tennis circles and worked alongside Andy Murray during sessions in the late 2010s.
In 2024, Romeo stepped away from professional sport and shifted his attention to fashion and modelling. He has since worked with major luxury names including Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, and Forty Love now marks his next step into entertainment.
The role appears to bring together several elements that have defined his public image so far: sport, style and a growing creative career.
His first film arrives, however, during a period of continued scrutiny surrounding the Beckham family’s relationships.
Brooklyn Beckham publicly confirmed in January 2026 that he was estranged from his parents, while Victoria later addressed the situation in April, saying the family has always tried to protect and love their children. The Beckhams’ private tensions have remained a constant topic of tabloid speculation, even as David, Victoria, Romeo, Cruz and Harper have continued appearing together at various public events.

Brooklyn has previously hinted at family friction and has at times appeared absent from certain public moments and online exchanges.
Despite that, David has continued to post messages showing affection for all of his children, including Father’s Day tributes featuring family photographs.
Romeo’s growing film career adds a fresh development to the wider Beckham story, balancing personal ambition against the constant public focus on family matters.
IMDb currently lists Forty Love as being in post-production ahead of its planned 25 November 2026 release in France.
Brooklyn and Nicola married on April 9, 2022, in a Palm Beach, Florida ceremony attended by around 500 guests, two years after their engagement.
Not long after the wedding, reports began circulating about a ‘full-on cold war’ between Nicola and Victoria.
Page Six reported:
‘the build-up to the wedding was horrendous’ and they ‘can’t stand each other and don’t talk’.
There were also claims that tensions were linked to Nicola choosing a Valentino wedding dress rather than one from Victoria’s label, although those reports later appeared to be downplayed.
By March 2023, the family seemed to present a united front while posing together at Victoria’s Paris fashion show.
Two years later, however, reports claimed that Brooklyn and Nicola had missed David’s 50th birthday celebration at Cipriani Downtown Miami.
TMZ later alleged that Brooklyn and Romeo were no longer on speaking terms because of Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who had a ‘romantic connection’ with Brooklyn ‘several years ago’.
Cruz later denied that Brooklyn and Kim had ever dated, and in May 2025 Brooklyn and Nicola were absent as David’s birthday celebrations continued.
In July 2025, Brooklyn and Nicola unfollowed Romeo and Cruz, with the move reportedly going both ways.
The next month, David and Victoria were reported not to have attended Brooklyn and Nicola’s vow renewal ceremony.
By December, further reports claimed Brooklyn was no longer following his parents and that they were no longer following him, prompting Cruz to publicly respond.
“NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son … Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I.”
In January 2026, claims emerged that Brooklyn had sent a legal letter to his parents asking them to contact him only through his lawyer, a demand Victoria was said to have breached when she ‘liked’ one of his Instagram posts about roast chicken.
Later that month, Brooklyn posted a statement to Instagram Stories making a series of allegations about his family, including that his parents had tried to ‘ruin’ his marriage to Nicola, had always ‘controlled’ his life and that ‘Brand Beckham’ took priority over everything else.
David later marked Brooklyn’s birthday with a public post.
“27 Today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you.”
He shared a childhood photo of Brooklyn and tagged Victoria, though Brooklyn himself could not be tagged because he had blocked him.
Brooklyn did not publicly respond.
Harper, the youngest Beckham sibling, was then photographed outside Brooklyn’s door appearing to hand-deliver a letter while he and Nicola were reportedly in New York.
A representative for Brooklyn and Nicola responded sharply.
“That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras.”
