Kai Trump offered viewers a glimpse inside the White House at no cost, but the response online was far from unanimously positive.
Kai Trump, the 19-year-old eldest granddaughter of President Donald Trump and daughter of Donald Trump Jr., often shares snippets of her day-to-day life, golf career and family experiences across social media.
In a recent YouTube upload, Kai filmed parts of her trip to the UFC Freedom 250 event, which took place on June 14, 2026, on the South Lawn of the White House as part of the administration’s America 250 celebrations. At one point in the video, she returned to the White House to get ready, using the stop to shower and change before heading back out.
Standing outside with a microphone, she told viewers: “Alright guys, welcome into my house!”
From there, she recorded the main entrance and part of the hallway, and the camera continued rolling as she made her way to the second floor.

That comment quickly became the focus of criticism online, with some viewers objecting to her referring to the White House as ‘her house’.
The White House is federal property and the official residence of the president, with the publicly accessible portions of the building traditionally treated as belonging to the American people rather than any one family.
After the clip spread on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person wrote: “Why is Donald Trump’s granddaughter calling the White House ‘my house’? It belongs to the American people.”
Another wrote: “If this was Obama’s kids doing this all hell would break lose.”
“USA can’t drop any lower at this point,” said another fuming social media user.
Not everyone saw it that way, however, and some rushed to defend Kai over the backlash.
One supporter wrote: “She’s an American person is she not? It belongs to her as much is it does you or I.”
“Why do people constantly try to find anything they can to constantly bash the presidents family. She is just a kid. That is her grandpa’s residence til his term is one so yes it is her home til his term is up,” another echoed.

Kai has previously spoken openly about how different her teenage years have been compared with most people her age. Through what she posts online, she has given followers a look at a lifestyle shaped in part by constant security.
During an appearance on Logan Paul and Mike Majlak’s Impaulsive podcast, she explained that dating could be uncomfortable when Secret Service agents were stationed close by.
She said the adjustment was especially hard at first, though over time she has found a way to tune it out and carry on.
“I’ve had to learn, in the last year, ‘yes they’re following me’ but also focus and pretend like they’re not there,” she said.
“If you live a normal life, you just go out your house and leave. You don’t have to plan every single second. But once I was like ‘their only job is to protect me’ and I’m going to focus on me and let them do their job, it made it so much easier,” she added.
