Tom Hardy is expected to reprise his role as Harry Da Souza in a potential third season of Paramount+ crime drama MobLand, after reports of an off-screen dispute with producers were said to have been smoothed over.
However, Paramount+ has not officially announced a third season yet. The streamer renewed MobLand for a second season in June 2025 after the series drew strong viewership, and the next installment is still expected to arrive later this year or in 2026.
The 48-year-old star plays fixer Harry Da Souza in the series, and questions over his future began after filming on Season 2 wrapped in March and reports surfaced that he might not be asked back if the show continued.
In May, reports emerged claiming that Hardy’s relationship with production company 101 Studios and executive producer Jez Butterworth had broken down amid mounting tension during production.
Puck previously reported that Hardy had clashed with members of the creative team over delayed scripts, rewrites, and the broader direction of the drama.

It was also said that Hardy was unhappy with the show shifting attention away from his character and moving more decisively toward an ensemble structure.
Those reported delays are said to have left Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan waiting on set for extended periods, fueling speculation that Hardy’s long-discussed reputation as a difficult collaborator may have put his role in the series at risk.
The standoff now appears to have been resolved. Recent reports said Paramount executives stepped in and arranged an in-person meeting in London after deciding the hit series could not realistically move forward without Hardy.
Hardy, Butterworth, and producer David Glasser reportedly met to work through their disagreements and reached a compromise that keeps Harry at the center of the show while still preserving the series’ ensemble focus.

The reported reconciliation follows comments from Dame Helen Mirren, who recently defended Hardy and pushed back on criticism circulating online.
Discussing his approach to work, the 80-year-old actress said she had no issue with his methods.
“I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor,” Mirren stated warmly. “Different actors have different processes. As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there. My support of him is genuine and heartfelt.”
With the dispute seemingly settled, the expectation is now that Hardy will be available for the next chapter of MobLand if Paramount+ gives the show a third-season green light.
The drama broke launch records worldwide for the streamer when it first debuted, and Season 2 remains in post-production ahead of its planned release later this year.
Writers are said to be back at work on the next installment, while sources indicate that Hardy will complete the full three-year deal he originally signed, keeping the Harrigan family story at the center of the series.
