Josh Allen is making waves online for a golf swing that fans have branded completely unconventional.
Fresh off another headline-making year, the Buffalo Bills quarterback remains one of the NFL’s biggest stars and one of the league’s most recognizable faces.
Allen, who won the 2024 NFL MVP award and helped keep Buffalo in the championship conversation, has also been enjoying a busy offseason away from football.
Now, though, the conversation has shifted away from the gridiron and toward a practice clip showing Allen working on his golf game in a way many viewers did not expect.
“What the f*** am I watching,” one user questioned.
While another wrote: “Unique is one word for it. Is that what we’re calling it now? I can’t keep up anymore.”
A third added: “This looks very strange.”
“What in the Happy Gilmore is going on here,” another said.
In the clip, Allen can be seen taking a swing while one person steadies him from behind and another appears to control his head position.

The video quickly spread across social media, with many people unsure whether the method was bizarre or brilliant.
“Bills star QB Josh Allen working on his golf swing with his friends has gone viral on social media.
“This is an extremely unique way of training.”
Despite the reaction online, there is some logic behind what Allen appears to be doing.
Golf coaches often stress the importance of controlling the low point of the swing arc, and keeping the head stable can help a golfer maintain posture, balance and consistent contact through impact.
That has made the clip look odd to casual viewers, even if the underlying drill is based on fairly standard swing principles.

Off the field, Allen is also adjusting to a major new chapter in his personal life.
He and wife Hailee Steinfeld married in May 2025 and welcomed their first child, a daughter, in spring 2026. Steinfeld later revealed that their baby girl’s name is Harper Haize Allen.
Allen had already spoken earlier this year about how much he was looking forward to fatherhood.
Speaking at a January press conference, Allen said: “It’s something that I will take with great pride, and we’re going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else.
“And I know, I love being a football player and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one.”
