Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldoni, have broken their silence after their long-running legal dispute with Blake Lively over It Ends With Us ended in settlement.
In a heartfelt Instagram video posted on July 8, 2026, the 42-year-old Jane the Virgin actor appeared alongside Emily to speak publicly for the first time in nearly two years about the ordeal, which began when Lively accused him in December 2024 of sexual harassment and retaliation connected to the making of the film.
The dispute escalated into a bitter back-and-forth of lawsuits and counterclaims. Lively later settled her case with Baldoni and his production company in May 2026, just before a federal trial was due to begin, while Baldoniās separate defamation claims against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds were dismissed by a judge earlier in the year.
With the legal fight now behind them, Justin and Emily used the video to reflect on the toll it had taken on their family and to explain why they had stayed quiet throughout the public storm.
āWe have not done this in a while, so we have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years and itās not because we havenāt had anything to say,ā Justin, 42, began. āLord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this where we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just doesnāt feel like the right time. We were talking about it and feeling into it and praying about it.ā
Emily said that, after a great deal of reflection, this finally felt like the right time to share how they were feeling.
āWhat does feel important is that we can genuinely say that we are sitting here today feeling immense gratitude,ā Emily said in the video. āBut I also feel that it’s important as we say that, in that gratitude, it doesn’t negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years.ā
She also delivered one of the videoās most pointed remarks, questioning how the campaign against her husband had been presented to the public.
“We’ve had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things, like, ‘How could something like this even happen?’ Let alone disguised as a fight for women.”

Justin said he and Emily had chosen not to add to the noise while the legal process played out, and that they had spent the past year and a half trying to focus on what mattered most.
“The truth and the facts have spoken for themselves,” Emily concluded. “And here we are.ā
Since the case ended, the couple have focused on their two children, their faith and their close circle of family and friends, while also acknowledging that recovery has not been simple.
āWe are healing, and if youāve ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isnāt linear,ā Justin said. āIt looks different every day, and we have had to rethink for ourselves what is real and what matters and itās this, itās our family, itās our friends, itās our community [who] have been there for us, itās our faith.ā
He also thanked those who publicly supported them while they remained silent.
āI think weāre closer and more devoted and steadfast in our faith that weāve ever been. Also, and this has been on both of our hearts, there were so many of you who, when we didnāt have a voice, were our voice. ⦠So many of you had discernment and you used your intuition and you trusted that, and you have given your time to fight for us. Thank you does not feel like enough, but weāre here in large part because of so many of you and all of our friends and family.ā
