Love Island USA star exposes brutal hate messages after shocking villa exit

Love Island USA contestant Gal Tshnieder has opened up about the intense backlash he has faced online after his exit from the villa, including viewers giving him a particularly cutting nickname.

The latest wave of criticism came after Gal’s departure from the Fiji villa, where Love Island USA Season 8 is now in its final stretch ahead of the July 12 finale.

New episodes have been airing almost daily, with the season’s endgame bringing a series of rapid-fire eliminations as the remaining islanders battle to stay in contention for the final couples.

Gal entered the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell and quickly became one of the more talked-about contestants of the season, especially as his romantic situation with Jen Terry drew scrutiny from viewers watching at home.

Since returning to social media, Gal has posted several screenshots showing the criticism and ridicule he has received from viewers since leaving the series.

Posting on Instagram since leaving the reality series, Gal wrote:

“Proof that Love Island does not do our hair and makeup. Grateful for the opportunity.”

He also referenced the messages in a recent TikTok caption, writing:

“When my phone buzzes and I think it might be something important but it’s just Jen sending me her favorite hate comments.”

Among the remarks he shared was one featuring the nickname some users have started using for him:

“Gallbladder pls don’t start right now.”

Another message read:

“I just want you to know I did hire the Etsy witch to put bad juju on gallbladder!”

Jen appeared to be forwarding the comments to him, adding:

“I’m crying these are so good!!”

Much of the criticism appears to stem from the way his relationship with Jen unfolded on the show, with some viewers accusing him of not being fully sincere about the connection.

There was also speculation among fans that Gal had kept his options open in the villa while weighing other romantic prospects, which only intensified the online reaction after his exit.

At the same time, the backlash has prompted calls from other viewers for a more measured response, with some urging fans to remember that the Islanders are real people and not to cross the line into personal abuse.

One supporter commented:

“World be kind,”

Another added:

“Feel the world around you gal. There is love and forgiveness everywhere.”

Love Island USA Season 8 continues to stream on Peacock, with the finale set for July 12.
