Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen has agreed to pay his ex-wife Brooke Mueller $500,000 after she alleged he had fallen behind on child support payments dating back to 2011.
The agreement comes after months of court filings over the long-running dispute, which centered on support for the former couple’s twin sons, Max and Bob. Sheen and Mueller married in 2008, split the following year, and finalized their divorce in 2011. Their sons, born in 2009, are now 17 and are approaching adulthood.
In December 2025, Mueller submitted a court petition asking for $15 million in unpaid child support. In the filing, she said Sheen had failed for years to pay the agreed monthly amount of $55,000.
Mueller alleged that while full payments were made in 2010, the years that followed involved either reduced payments or none at all. She claimed the unpaid support totaled $8,967,600, with another $6,418,643 added in interest.

Legal documents obtained by The Sun show that Sheen argued he had full custody of the twins during certain stretches after the separation, and for that reason should not be required to cover child support for those periods.
‘the parties acknowledge that they have exchanged and reviewed their positions and calculations concerning the claimed arrearages, credits, and interest’
According to the outlet, the judge ultimately ordered Sheen to pay Mueller $500,000 in back child support, along with $60,000 in attorney fees.
The $500,000 sum is set to be paid in two installments, with the first due today, July 10, and the second due by September 1.

The latest filing marks another turn in a dispute that has played out publicly for years. Court records and earlier reporting have shown that the exes had at times worked through custody and support issues privately, even as the financial fight over the twins continued in court.
In 2024, Sheen requested an emergency court order seeking full custody of his sons if Mueller, who has previously spoken publicly about addiction struggles, did not pass a drug test.
“Brooke shall enjoy reasonable and flexible periods of custody and visitation as agreed and arranged between the Parties,” the agreement stated, “recognizing the goal of frequent and continuous contact between the minors and both parents.”
During an interview with People at the time, Sheen discussed life with his sons.
“I’ve mostly been raising my 14-year-old boys. Their mom has been trying to figure some stuff out on her end, so she’s not in the picture too much right now,” he said.
“They’re really cool, really smart, and really funny,” he also said of Bob and Max.
Before marrying Mueller, Sheen was married to Donna Peele from 1995 to 1996. He later married Denise Richards, with that marriage lasting from 2002 to 2006.
Alongside Bob and Max, Sheen is also father to three daughters: eldest daughter Cassie, 41, from an earlier relationship, and Sami, 22, and Lola, 12, whom he shares with Richards.
