Man Sells Out Cubes of Garbage From Taylor Swifts Wedding in Just 24 Hours

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appear to have taken extraordinary steps to keep their wedding private, but that still did not stop one artist from finding a way to profit from the occasion in a surprising fashion.

The pair reportedly married at Madison Square Garden in New York on July 3, 2026, where the guest list was filled with celebrities and security was so strict that fans waiting outside had little idea what was happening.

‘JusT&T Married’

That billboard message nearby was the clearest sign to onlookers that the ceremony had taken place at all.

Even so, artist Justin Gignac decided that was not the end of the story.

Through his long-running NYC Garbage project, which he began in 2001, he gathered litter from outside the venue on the day of the wedding and transformed it into an unconventional souvenir.

He sealed the debris into small “pocket garbage” cubes and released just 50 of them, pricing each one at $25.

The drop launched on July 8, and all 50 sold within a day.

Speaking to BBC News, Gignac explained the thinking behind the project.

“I figured Swifties would never want to part with their wedding garbage, so, they can take it with them wherever they go,” he said.

He also posted a brief TikTok to advertise the release, and after Swifties began sharing it widely, the clip reportedly passed 800,000 views.

The appeal seemed to be almost entirely based on novelty, rather than any expectation that the contents held real value.

In the viral video, Gignac framed the rubbish in romantic terms.

“collected from the edge of a love story outside Madison Square Garden, as close to Taylor & Travis’ big day as you could’ve gotten without an invite.”

The wedding-themed cubes are only the latest edition of Gignac’s broader project. He has been selling New York City Garbage since 2001, after a co-worker challenged him to prove he could market something people would normally never want. Since then, he has reportedly sold more than 1,700 cubes to customers across over 30 countries.

Earlier themed releases have centered on major public events such as the Republican National Convention, a Yankees World Series victory, and Barack Obama’s inauguration.

For this wedding collection, Gignac said he wore a tuxedo while using a litter picker to collect discarded items from the streets surrounding Madison Square Garden.

According to reports, the cubes contained items including cigarette butts, bottle caps, caution tape, a stray AirPod, a Ring Pop, and even an ovulation test.

Shipping was said to add another $10 per cube, bringing the final price to $35 for anyone wanting a small piece of rubbish linked to one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year.
