Suri Cruise has legally cut Tom Cruise out of her name, according to new court records.
The 20-year-old, who is in Pennsylvania after starting at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, was also registered to vote there in the fall of 2024.
That name change leaves Katie Holmes, 47, as the parent reflected in her daughter’s new surname.
Suri was already using “Noelle” in public last year, but the legal move makes the break official.
One report said the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had the change filed through the court system.
At graduation from LaGuardia High School in New York City in June 2024, she went by Suri Noelle instead of Suri Cruise.
Tom, 63, has long pushed back on claims that he walked away from his daughter.
“The assertion that I ‘abandoned’ Suri after my divorce is patently false.”
He also wrote in court papers that he and Suri “spoke on the phone nearly every day.”
“I have in no way cut Suri out of my life — whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise.”
In that same filing, Tom said he “regularly asked for and received updates concerning her friends and school life.”
He made those remarks during his 2013 defamation fight over tabloid headlines accusing him of abandoning her.
Brooke Shields has also said the family dynamic shifted years ago.
“It was from them and Suri [at first], so it was the three of them, and then soon it was no Suri and no Katie and just Tom,” she explained.
“Then it went from just Tom for a while, but not every holiday. And then the cake stopped.”
Holmes has mostly kept quiet about the estrangement, though she has occasionally spoken warmly about her daughter growing up.
In 2024, Suri was photographed with Holmes at her graduation, while Tom spent that weekend in London.
He was there shooting “Mission: Impossible 8” and attending a Taylor Swift concert.
In the viral moment that reignited the family story, Suri’s graduation program listed her as Suri Noelle.
The move landed as another public sign that she was dropping her father’s surname.
That moment came after years of reports that father and daughter had no public relationship.
