Home Improvement viewers are reacting with excitement after Patricia Richardson posted a fresh photo featuring her former TV sons, Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Taran Noah Smith.
The three appeared together on the hit 1990s ABC sitcom, which stayed on the air for eight seasons.
Richardson played Jill Taylor, while Thomas and Smith portrayed two of her sons, Randy and Mark.
The show helped launch Jonathan Taylor Thomas, widely known as JTT, to major fame. He later built a successful career with several film and television roles, including voicing young Simba in Disney’s 1994 favorite, The Lion King.
In the years since, though, JTT has largely stayed away from the entertainment industry. Following Home Improvement‘s conclusion in 1999, Thomas left Hollywood to pursue his education, enrolling at Harvard, Columbia, and St. Andrew’s University in Scotland. One of his last on-screen appearances came in 2015, when he appeared on former co-star Tim Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standing.
Because he has no Instagram or other public social media accounts, many longtime fans have been curious about what he has been doing and what he looks like now. Richardson’s latest post offered a rare glimpse.
In the picture, which seems to be a selfie taken by Smith, Thomas is smiling beside Richardson while the group stands in front of a large wooden cabinet.
Smith, now 42, is wearing glasses and has long hair and a beard. Thomas, now 44, is seen with short hair and thick black-framed glasses, while Richardson smiles between them.
She captioned the photo “My other boys” and added a red heart.
The post, shared yesterday (July 29), quickly drew plenty of reactions from fans.
“JTT needs to make a comeback,” somebody insisted, as another person wrote: “Love this!!! Home Improvement is my comfort show.”
A third person said: “This picture put such a big smile on my face! This was my favorite childhood show! So many memories.”
“A rare JTT sighting,” added another, “damn that’s crazy.”
“Awwww! So good to see you together,” gushed somebody else.
Richardson’s other on-screen son, Zachery Ty Bryan, was not part of the apparent Home Improvement reunion, as he is currently incarcerated serving multiple jail sentences.
Bryan, who played Brad Taylor, pleaded guilty in February 2026 to a felony DUI charge stemming from a February 2024 arrest in La Quinta, California. According to court records, he admitted to an enhancement due to having two prior DUI convictions and a blood alcohol content of 0.15% or higher. He was sentenced to 16 months in jail with no probation.
In March 2026, Bryan received an additional 19-month sentence for violating the terms of his domestic violence probation following a November 2025 arrest in Eugene, Oregon.
The former actor, who retired from acting in 2009, is currently incarcerated in California as he serves out his sentences.
