During the Wednesday, July 29, premiere of Hulu’s new show, Clark sat down with podcast co-host Taylor Strecker to discuss the tension in his relationship with Schroeder.

The Vanderpump Rules alum, 38, married Clark, 46, in 2020, and the pair share two children, Hartford, 5, and Messer, 2.

One half of the couple shared his feelings on camera, leading to an emotional conversation that neither spouse shied away from.

“I just got so detached from her that it’s like we’re roommates,” he continued.

The comments came as Clark discussed the toll of his role as a stay-at-home parent.

“I’m trying to balance wanting her to have her space and to be able to not stress out when she’s working,” Beau shared with Strecker. “But then also I’m sitting here and I’m angry and resentful.”

He added that he had been avoiding the issue rather than confronting it directly.

He confessed he had been “just shoving it down” rather than facing the issue head-on.

“I don’t feel worthy.” Clark also compared himself to “a 1950s housewife” cleaning and feeding the kids while feeling disconnected.

Schroeder responded emotionally during their on-camera conversation.

Schroeder grew emotional during the exchange and urged her husband to open up. “I want you to say things the way that you tell me you don’t want things to build up. I need to make more of an effort,” she said.

In her own confessional, she praised his steady support through the years.

Schroeder has spoken publicly about her own role in their marital dynamic.

However, Stassi is hard on herself, saying, “As a wife, I could be better at it.”
In separate interviews promoting the show, she acknowledged the challenges of being the primary breadwinner while managing her career.

She said, “I’m so focused on being a mom and work that I recognize that [with] Beau,”
the couple needed to improve their connection.
Stassi tied the knot with him in September 2020 and she gushes, “He’s the best person I’ve ever met. Every decision that he makes comes from a place of being morally sound, like he’s trying to make the decision based on being a good person, and I think that’s one of the most amazing qualities you can find in a human being.”

The couple also discussed other marital pressures on the premiere.

The couple opened up about their history of pregnancy scares after welcoming their second child during the premiere of House of Stassi on Thursday, July 30. Stassi told Beau she’d recently spiraled into panic over a late period.

“I really was so scared I was pregnant,” she said. “I was like, ‘My life is over.'” While Stassi brought up the idea of getting back on birth control, Beau suggested a more permanent solution instead.

“No, I’ll go get the thing,” he said, apparently referring to a vasectomy, adding that he just needed to figure out the logistics.

Yet Schroeder was hesitant about that path.

Stassi, 38, however, caught him by surprise when she pushed back on the idea entirely.

The couple also revisited a chaotic pregnancy scare from summer 2025, when they were in London filming Vanderpump Villa.

In earlier interviews, Schroeder acknowledged that filming the new show forced both of them to address buried issues.

“What I love about doing a show is that it forces you to talk through it and work it out,” she explained. “So, to me, it’s like my therapy. Of course, it causes some issues momentarily because you’re like, ‘This sucks. We’re fighting.’ But then we’re forced to talk about it.”

Schroeder has spoken about her fears regarding how the public might perceive their marriage on screen.

“My worst fear is that people will be like, ‘I’m Team Beau,’ or, ‘I’m Team Stassi,’ and put us against each other,” she explained. “That’s not it. You’re watching a real married couple who love each other fight about normal things that married couples go through. We’re not against each other. Please don’t put us against each other. We’re just being honest and vulnerable and opening up to the world.”

In the viral moment that kicked off this story, Beau broke down over the emotional distance that had grown between them during a busy season of life dominated by parenting and career demands. The confession revealed a husband feeling sidelined and undervalued while managing the household, unable to communicate his resentment until the camera forced the conversation. Stassi, hearing his pain, recognized her own role in letting work and motherhood overshadow their marriage and committed to making more of an effort. The moment illustrated a couple willing to expose their struggles on national television in hopes of fixing them.
