Charissa Thompson revealed on her Calm Down podcast that her bejeweled dress at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding left her arms bleeding by night’s end.

The Fox Sports broadcaster, 44, wore a glittery and shimmery outfit reminiscent of a “Mirrorball,” for the pop superstar’s “magical” wedding to Travis Kelce in New York City on July 3.
Thompson attended the nuptials with boyfriend marketing executive Steven Cundari.
Thompson described the dress on her Calm Down podcast while retelling the horror story of her gown to her co-host Erin Andrews, who also attended the nuptials at Madison Square Garden.
“The prongs were holding in all of the individual jewels, which is great. The dress was super heavy, and I loved the way it looked and everything. However, halfway through the night, I’m looking, and my forearms are bleeding,” she shares.
Thompson explained what went wrong with the elegant but dangerous piece.

“This dress was great, however, you know those prongs like on a ring… like a setting?” Thompson said. “It was scraping. The prongs were slicing my forearms open. It was also slicing Steve’s tuxedo open because each prong would grab a little bit or his tuxedo,” she said, comparing it to a run in stockings or a shirt.

Thompson went on to detail the extent of the damage by night’s end.
“I owe him a tux… by the end of the night, I’m seeing these strings all over and my arms are bleeding.”
Despite the wardrobe catastrophe, Thompson appeared to be in good spirits about the mishap.
“Steve wants to kill me,” she joked of her boyfriend and date for the evening, Steven Cundari, though she said it was all “worth it.”

Thompson and Andrews have been longtime friends of both Swift and Kelce, and they attended the ceremony together at Madison Square Garden.
Erin and Charissa, 44, actually played a big part in Taylor and Travis’ relationship. When Travis first attended The Eras Tour in July 2023, he wrote his phone number on a friendship bracelet and wanted to give it to the Grammy winner. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to, so Erin and Charissa got on their podcast and really pushed Taylor to give Travis a shot.
The podcast episode revealed more about the couple’s big day beyond Thompson’s dress drama.
Thompson said of the “royal wedding” on the Thursday, July 30 installment of her podcast: “Congrats to both of them. It was magical.”

Thompson also praised how the newlyweds brought their circles together for the celebration.

“Independent of the actual nuptials, I appreciate them getting everyone together,” Thompson said. “It was so fun to see our friends in the same place… our people, we all got to be together.”
Andrews chimed in with her own reflections about the star-studded event at the iconic New York venue.
“I was so excited to meet people in both of their lives that we’ve heard about and we haven’t met before. I thought that was so exciting.”
In the viral moment that brought Swift and Kelce together, Thompson and Andrews had championed the couple’s union on their podcast after Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour show in Kansas City. The tight end was captivated by the pop star and the broadcasters encouraged Swift to give him a chance, ultimately leading to their dating announcement in September 2023 and their engagement earlier this year.
The Thursday, July 30, installment of her podcast featured Thompson reflecting on the “magical” day enjoyed alongside her friends in celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and pop superstar’s milestone.
