Aaron Rodgers credits his wife Brittani for helping him reunite with his estranged family following years of estrangement.
The 42-year-old quarterback told NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt on Saturday, August 1, that “there’s been a lot of conversation about it outside of my own conversations for so many years,” and “a big part of it was getting married and having those conversations with my wife that allowed me to kind of open up to the possibility of coming together — it’s been a couple-year process now, the conversations with my family.”
Rodgers, who announced he married a woman named Brittani in June 2025, shared a July 2026 Instagram carousel of photos featuring himself posing with his parents, Ed Rodgers and Darla Rodgers, and his older brother, Luke Rodgers.
“I’ve got to give my wife a lot of credit — not that she was pushing me, because she never was, but just the way that she loves and supports me,” he added.
“Having her by my side during this process has been really special, and I missed those relationships. And there were reasons for it that don’t need to be talked about but I’m thankful that that’s come all the way back around.”
The estrangement had stretched across a decade or more before the recent breakthrough.
Aaron’s younger brother, Jordan Rodgers, was noticeably absent from the social media post.
Rodgers had been estranged from his parents and close family for more than a decade before posting the series of photos on Instagram with his loved ones on July 20, captioning the post “Another bonding week #fam.”
The couple has been remarkably private about their relationship.
Brittani has not been seen publicly with Rodgers as the quarterback has said she wants to live a private life.
According to Rodgers, he first met Brittani in 2017 when he was still the quarterback of the Packers but they weren’t in a relationship then and she apparently left the country.
“When we met back in 2017, I knew that there was something crazy special about this and I wanted to be with her,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show in March 2026. “She would make funny comments like, ‘I would never live in Green Bay’ and ‘I don’t want to be a player’s wife.’ She’s not a public person.”
Rodgers hinted about Brittani’s background, saying, “She moved back across the pond and I got myself into crazy town.”
“She didn’t sign up for this b—–,” he told McAfee on the show. “She signed up for this because she loves me and supports me and wants to spend the rest of our lives together and start a family together. She didn’t sign up to be an out front social media WAG.”
Rodgers initially went public with his romance during a December 2024 episode of The Pat McAfee Show, where he name-dropped his “girlfriend Brittani.” Then, during a June 2025 press conference, he confirmed that he secretly married “a couple of months” prior.
While attending the 2025 Barnstable Brown Gala in Louisville before the Kentucky Derby on May 2, he was spotted sporting a dark-colored band on his ring finger, leading fans to speculate that he and Brittani had said “I do.”
The quarterback revealed few other details about his wife’s identity or background.
Since Rodgers confirmed he was married and flashed a wedding ring, no one has been able to come up with a last name or single photo of Rodgers’ elusive wife, whose name he has only given as possibly “Brittani.”
Rodgers signed a one-year, $13.65 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in June 2025 at the advisement of his Brittani’s sister. “I was taking orders from my [new] sister-in-law, Mia,” he told The Athletic in August 2025. “She’s 20, and she’s the brains of the family.”

Rodgers recently spent a long weekend in Nashville with his parents, his brother, his brother’s wife, and their two children, saying “I got to be an uncle, so it’s really special.”

according to footage obtained by TMZ, Rodgers was spending time with his mom and dad back in April at the inaugural Pleasant Valley High School Athletics Hall of Fame dinner in Chico, California. The ceremony, held at the Chico Elks Lodge, celebrated Aaron’s journey from a three-sport standout at Pleasant Valley High School to one of football’s most successful quarterbacks. According to TMZ, Aaron gave a speech during the event and even thanked his parents.
The public photos and heartfelt remarks marked the end of a decades-long rift, though Rodgers has been characteristically guarded about the reasons for the estrangement.
He stated he had “been very, very closed off about that part of my life, and I want to keep it that way, but there’s been a narrative that’s gone on for too long that I wanted to kind of shut down, and it’s been really beautiful to reconnect with them, all of them.”
Pittsburgh’s campaign will begin at home against the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 13.
