Andy Cohen, 58, appeared on TODAY on August 5 to celebrate 20 years of “Real Housewives” on Bravo and spoke with Craig Melvin about “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th,” which brings together iconic women across the franchises.
While chatting with Cohen, Craig asked what Sobieski thinks about the long-running reality shows that Cohen created, asking “Is he a ‘Real Housewives’ kind of guy?”
Cohen told TODAY’s Craig Melvin, “He loves my kids and me, and that’s what’s important.”
The revelation surprised many fans, given Cohen’s entire career revolves around producing and hosting the beloved Bravo franchise.
Cohen joked that his boyfriend’s algorithm is feeding him “Housewives”-related things because “our phones listen to everything we say.”
During a June episode of his “Andy Cohen Live” SiriusXM podcast, Cohen shared that he’d “met the person,” saying “This man is kind, and strong, and smart, and he is an adult. And he loves my children, and they love him, and I love him.”
Cohen has opened up extensively about their relationship and their meeting.
Cohen revealed that he met his boyfriend at a mutual friend’s July Fourth party in 2025, saying “We talked all night.”
Cohen recalled with precision: “I very methodically put my number in his phone. Apparently, I said to him twice that night, ‘I want to make sure this number is right. … And then he said, ‘Wow, I knew you were serious when you were really, like, serious about this number.'”
Cohen said “We met at my friend Justin’s July 4th party last year. So it was 11 months ago. And I saw him from across the party.”
Cohen initially hesitated before attending that fateful party.
“I almost didn’t go. I never get invited to gay parties in the Hamptons anymore. And I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just go.'”
Cohen said he took a “slow and deliberate and methodical” approach to dating his boyfriend and introducing him to his two children, Ben and Lucy, saying “It has been so easy. One year later, I still can’t believe I found him.”
Sources close to the couple claim Cohen is intentionally keeping Sobieski away from the Housewives world.
“Andy isn’t hiding Kevin. He’s protecting him,” an insider alleged.
“Andy has been down this road before,” an insider told RadarOnline. “The moment a boyfriend gets introduced, everyone has an opinion. They start asking questions, digging for details, and suddenly the relationship becomes a group discussion.”
Cohen has said Sobieski is “so lowkey” and “doesn’t watch the Housewives,” according to Bravo’s Daily Dish.
Sobieski works in portfolio operations at TPG, a private equity and investment firm based in New York, and has been with the company since 2022.
Sobieski earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BBA in Finance and studied abroad at Copenhagen Business School.
Cohen has also discussed their relationship candidly across multiple platforms.
“People have asked me for a long time, ‘When are you going to get a boyfriend? Why don’t you have a boyfriend?'” Cohen reflected during the June 8 episode of his SiriusXM radio show. “And I have always said, ‘I will know when I meet the person.'”
As for what makes them work, he confessed they haven’t had one fight so far because he and Sobieski “just view life the same way.”
On the July 8 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Cohen joked about the 16-year age gap when an audience question prompted him to say “I’m only in a 16-year age-gap relationship,” with photos having surfaced of him holding hands with the 42-year-old businessman back in early June in New York City.
