The Dawson’s Creek alum and the Queen & Slim star traveled with their 6-year-old daughter Juno to the Caribbean for a summer vacation one year after finalizing their divorce

Turner-Smith captioned the getaway, “Dreamy days.”
The former couple, who separated in October 2023, have spent recent months focused on centering Juno in all their decisions

The getaway included snapping a sweet shot of Juno hugging Jackson, which Turner-Smith shared to Instagram Aug. 4 alongside the caption, “dreamy days at @fsnevis.”
Fan reaction on the post was overwhelmingly positive.
“A little girl needs both her mama and her daddy, and it’s nice seeing that represented here in your post!” wrote one fan, while another added: “You two are smashing it, and your daughter will thrive off the back of it.”
The vacation in Nevis, a Caribbean destination known for its scenic beaches, also included basking in the stunning landscapes, taking a front-row seat to the island’s wildlife and playing in the pool at the luxury Four Seasons hotel

On the Joy 101 podcast in late June, Turner-Smith opened up about her approach to discussing the split with Juno.
“I’m a child of divorce myself and so is my ex husband,” she told Hoda Kotb
.
“So it’s like it’s always been important to think about, ‘Okay, what is the language around which we are going to talk about this with our daughter?’ Because it is her new reality.”
The couple has been intentional about their messaging.
“We’re learning as well and not always getting it totally right — but the idea is always two homes filled with love. And I’m like, ‘You got two houses, girl.'”
Turner-Smith told Kotb their family is still learning to navigate their evolving dynamic since Juno is “quite young,” adding: “It’s like you got to walk this line between obviously being age appropriate and child-centered in the way that you talk about it, but also keeping it real so that she has an understanding of what this means.”
Jackson has been equally vocal about his commitment to Juno.
“My god, at that age, every couple of days she’s a new kid,” the Dr. Odyssey actor raved to E! News 2025. “Truly, the big milestone has been this entire year. She started school.”
Jackson shared on the Dinner’s On Me podcast that he wanted to break the family cycle: “My father’s response to difficulty was to run away. And instead of doing that, I’ve had the opportunity to give my daughter the opposite experience. It’s my job, shared with my ex-wife, to do everything we can to nurture you, cultivate you, and give you all the tools you need in life.”

In the contested months that followed, the couple clashed repeatedly.
Turner-Smith’s attorney Laura Wasser had filed a declaration accusing Jackson of refusing to “allow Jodie to have custodial time” with their daughter while the actress was filming in London. Wasser attended over eight hours of mediation in regards to Turner-Smith’s request for custodial time in the summer and fall of 2024

“If I ever did anything to estrange my daughter from myself, I would be in duress,” Jackson said during an episode of the “Dinner’s On Me” podcast. “I actually can’t conceive of it because I don’t even wanna think of the pain that that would be.”
The couple finally reached a resolution.
The ex-couple agreed on joint legal and physical custody of their daughter in their divorce settlement, with Jackson making monthly child support payments and a one-time payment of $133,000

In a May 29 filing after their divorce was finalized, Jackson requested that the court order their daughter Juno to continue attending the same Calabasas school for the 2025-26 school year. The former “Dawson’s Creek” star alleged that Turner-Smith had failed to communicate with him about changing their daughter’s school, and instead chose a new campus over 45 minutes from his home by car

The schooling dispute prompted further legal action.
