Lizzo, 38, celebrated “Fat Liberation Month” on Instagram Sunday, Aug. 9, in a sparkly purple string bikini from her Yitty Swim line.
The singer rocked a purple shimmery string bikini featuring a tiny triangle top and high-waisted bottoms with bows tied on each side of her hips.
She accessorized with giant sunglasses and let her long, light brown curls flow freely.

Lizzo shared a second shot in the same swimsuit to her Instagram Stories, posing with her backside to the camera but turning her face to show off a different angle of the suit.
“Happy Fat Liberation Month 💕 calling all my ladies over 200 go outside n POP sumthin🙏🏾,” the singer captioned her Instagram post on Sunday.
Her followers were quick to praise her in the comments section, with one writing, “Lizzo said confidence all month long! Love the energy. 🙌✨.”
Another fan gushed, “Curvalicious!!! Get it Lizzo! 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”

The musician previously spoke to PEOPLE about the mission behind Yitty Swim, saying, “I want people to find a product that makes them feel good. My goal with Yitty has always been to create something that changes a person’s day for the better and the way they feel about themselves when they walk past the mirror.”

YITTY announced the launch of its Shaping Swim collection on April 1, 2024, on the cusp of the brand’s second anniversary, after spending nearly two years developing and testing designs on different body types.
This summer, Yitty Swim is debuting its largest collection of bathing suits with more than 25 new styles ranging from sizes XS to 6X.

Lizzo is the July 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model, the fruits of her labor with her brand Yitty while designing its swimwear line years ago.
“Every time I do Yitty Swim, I always feel like it’s Sports Illustrated level,” Lizzo said. “When I believe what I dream, it comes true.”
“When I was younger, I saw Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and never imagined somebody with my body type would be on the cover,” the 38-year-old singer explained.

Lizzo’s fifth studio album, Bitch, was released on Friday, June 5, marking her first studio album since 2022’s Special.
“Reclaiming the word ‘b—h’ is power,” she said in a statement about the new project. “It’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence and unapologetic self-love. So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliott.”

In the viral moment that set her personal brand’s trajectory, Lizzo built Yitty as a size-inclusive shapewear line in 2022 after establishing herself as a self-love champion with multi-platinum hits like “Truth Hurts,” “Good as Hell,” and “Juice.”
By the time the “Good as Hell” singer launched Yitty’s swim line two years later in April 2024, the brand had already garnered significant demand for swimwear that incorporated the same shaping and smoothing technology found in her signature shapewear collection.
Lizzo says she and her Yitty brand team manifested the outcome years ago while designing its swimwear line.
Lizzo has revealed that she gained 20 pounds after reaching her “weight release goal” in January 2025 following a dramatic transformation that saw her lose 60 pounds, with the 38-year-old singer revealing her weight gain in a new interview.
She told The Guardian: “I was in a place where my physical weight was causing joint pain and aches. I also got to the point where I came off the internet, and all I had was the studio and my thoughts. So I poured myself into the things I could control.”

Her wellness journey began in fall 2023 during a period of severe depression following a lawsuit filed by former backup dancers, using Pilates, strength training, calorie deficit, high-protein diet, daily sauna, cardio, and therapy—no Ozempic.
She calls it a “weight release,” not a weight loss—emphasizing emotional and mental healing alongside physical change.
Earlier this year, Lizzo announced that she had reached her “weight release goal,” revealing she lowered her BMI by 10.5 points and reduced her body fat by 16% since 2023.
The award-winning singer does have some performances lined up, including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March 2026 and Netflix Is a Joke, a comedy and musical event starring Eric Andre and Nikki Glaser, in May.
