Amal Clooney stepped out in vintage John Galliano for a family fundraiser on Lake Como.
The human rights lawyer, 47, chose a black floor-skimming slip dress from the designer’s fall/winter 2004 collection for the Clooney Foundation for Justice dinner at Villa Passalacqua on Tuesday, August 10. She was joined by husband George Clooney, 64, and their eight-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.
The embroidered gown featured an oversized chartreuse velvet bow across the torso.
Amal accessorized with cascading gold drop earrings, oversized sunglasses, and a burgundy woven leather bag.
She went shoeless for the evening.
Alexander held his mother’s hand in a tan suit and sandals.
Ella walked with her father, who wore a light gray suit.
The family arrived by boat for the elegant lakeside gala.
This marked a rare public outing for the twins, whom the couple deliberately keeps out of the spotlight.
George has previously said, “We don’t put our children out there; we’ve never put their photo out there or anything like that.”
Amal has also spoken about privacy concerns, explaining, “Creating private moments and spaces is becoming increasingly difficult. But that’s also why we entertain a lot at home. I now have a phone basket that I use to take everyone’s phones away!”
The lawyer’s Galliano choice carries extra weight.
