Elizabeth Olsen has been spotted with her newborn for the first time since quietly welcoming her first child with husband Robbie Arnett.
The “WandaVision” actress, 37, and the Milo Greene musician, 34, were photographed taking a walk in Los Angeles on Saturday with Olsen wearing an infant in a white baby carrier strapped to her chest. Olsen wore all white and a wide-brimmed hat during the outing, using another green hat to shield the baby. Arnett kept it casual in shorts, a turquoise long-sleeved shirt and sneakers.
The sighting confirms that Olsen has given birth, though the couple never publicly announced the arrival. Prior to the Saturday photos, Olsen was last spotted stepping out on Aug. 7 in Southern California with no baby bump visible, wearing a breezy yellow top, striped pants and sandals.
News first broke in June that the Emmy nominee and Arnett had a baby on the way. Olsen never publicly discussed her pregnancy, though she was photographed baring her bump while out and about in Los Angeles during the summer.
Years before starting her family, Olsen made her timeline clear during a 2021 SiriusXM interview. “At what point do I get pregnant? At what point do I have my first baby?” She asked. “Is that five years from now? Because then I only have this kind of a window.”
Olsen had already spoken to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about when she “should… Think about conceiving a child,” she revealed to OK! That same year. He gave Olsen “the best answer any boss could say,” telling her, “You live your life and we’ll work around you,” Feige said “the same thing” to Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Saldana, Olsen noted.
The couple has maintained extreme privacy throughout their entire relationship. They were first spotted together in March 2017 and made their public debut that September at a pre-Emmy party in Los Angeles. Olsen revealed in 2018 that Arnett had moved in with her, though she never addressed 2019 engagement rumors.
Instead, she casually called Arnett her “husband” during a June 2021 Variety interview with Kaley Cuoco. “I also just noticed that my husband put Little Miss Magic,” Olsen said, gesturing to a book in the background. “They’re these classic books, but ‘magic’ because of WandaVision, because he’s such a f—ing cutie!”
In June 2022, Olsen confirmed on SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show” that she and Arnett had walked down the aisle “before COVID.” “We eloped and then we had a wedding at another time,” she said at the time, without providing further details.
The pair have also collaborated professionally, co-authoring the children’s book series “Hattie Harmony: Worry Detective,” which debuted in June 2022. “Robbie and I couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce the world to Hattie Harmony,” Olsen said in a statement upon its release. “Inspired by the picture books we adored as kids, we hope that Hattie will become a friend and a welcomed reminder to be kind to yourself and to each other.”
In the viral moment that first signaled their low-key approach to major life news, Olsen’s casual “husband” reference during the Variety interview caught fans off guard. The actress had been discussing “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “WandaVision” when she spotted the book Arnett had left behind, letting the relationship status slip without fanfare. It took another full year before she confirmed the actual timing of their nuptials.
Olsen’s past relationships have been slightly more public. She previously made headlines for breaking off her engagement to “Very Good Girls” co-star Boyd Holbrook in 2015 after three years together. Arnett’s past relationships have not been made public.
Both Olsen and Arnett have largely abandoned social media. Olsen deleted her Instagram account in 2020 and told Glamour UK she was “never going back.” “I thought, ‘Wait, why am I even trying to create a character version of myself and put it out in the world?'” she said. “And so during the pandemic I was like, ‘Oh this is just not for me.’ And I just got rid of it.”
