Sandra Bullock, 62, posted rare photos of her two children to Instagram on Tuesday.
The “Practical Magic” star shared a carousel of summer snapshots showing Louis, 16, and Laila, 12, enjoying time outdoors with family and close friends. The post marked another uncommon glimpse into the private family life the Oscar winner has long guarded carefully.
“Friends, family, fun, fishies, furries, aaaand work,” Bullock captioned the Instagram post.

Among the collection was a poignant photo showing the actress visiting her parents’ graves, seemingly alongside her sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, whom she tagged elsewhere in the carousel. The image offered a rare window into the family’s ongoing connection to their roots since the deaths of John W. Bullock in 2018 and Helga Meyer in 2000.
Bullock adopted Louis in 2010 and Laila in 2015, both in her late 40s. She has consistently shielded her children from public exposure, making any shared photograph a notable event for fans who have followed her decades-long career from “Speed” to “The Blind Side.”
In the viral moment that established her pattern of selective sharing, Bullock posted throwback photos of her children this past June as part of a Father’s Day tribute to her late father. The images showed John W. Bullock holding Louis and Laila when they were toddlers, with their faces covered to maintain their privacy. “Happy Heavenly Father’s Day, Dad. ❤️,” she wrote in part alongside those photos. She had previously shared photos of her children when they were younger in May to celebrate Mother’s Day, including a rare look at the “Ocean’s 8” actress cuddled up with her kids in costume while calling being a mother the “honor of a lifetime.”

The actress stepped back from Hollywood in March 2022, telling Entertainment Tonight that she needed to be “in the place that makes [her] happiest.” At the time, she explained the demands of her career had become all-consuming. “I take my job very seriously when I’m at work,” she said, noting that she had what she described as a “24/7” career. “I just want to be ’24/7′ with my babies and my family,” she continued. “That’s where I’m going to be for a while.” When asked what she hoped to do during her break, the “Miss Congeniality” star joked that she was looking forward to “servicing their every need” and managing “their social calendar.”
Bullock raised her two children with her longtime partner, the late Bryan Randall, who died in August 2023 after privately battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for three years. Randall, a photographer, had a daughter, Skylar Staten Randall, from a previous relationship. The family has continued to honor his memory while maintaining the low-profile lifestyle he and Bullock cultivated together.
The actress is set to return to the big screen with “Practical Magic 2,” reprising her role as Sally Owens alongside co-star Nicole Kidman. She marked her Instagram debut earlier this year with a post teasing the highly anticipated sequel.
