Julia Antonelli Wears $158 Aritzia Dress to Outer Banks Season 5 Premiere

Julia Antonelli stepped out in a $158 Aritzia dress for the “Outer Banks” Season 5 premiere.

The 21-year-old actress, who plays Wheezie Cameron on the Netflix hit, chose an ankle-length maxi from the Canadian brand for the red carpet event. Antonelli has portrayed Sarah Cameron’s younger sister since the show’s debut in 2020.

In an interview on the red carpet, she raved about the “classy” design.

“They always come in handy. They always fit,” she gushed over Aritzia’s styles.

The dress is crafted from Japanese double-faced satin and features a draped halter neckline with a button closure at the back collar. The open back adds a striking detail to the otherwise understated silhouette.

Antonelli wore the piece in matte pearl, though the style also comes in black, light birch, marcona beige and cacao nib brown. The price point sits well below typical red carpet fashion, where custom gowns often run into the thousands.

Aritzia shoppers have already weighed in with praise for the dress. One TikTok user said it “just hangs perfectly” on their body.

“Normally, I’m not a fan of a cowl neck, but I feel like this one is just so elegant and beautiful,” they continued. “And it just lays perfectly, kind of like a cinch around your waist but then goes down.”

The brand has built a loyal following among young celebrities and influencers for its minimalist aesthetic and accessible price points. Founded in Vancouver in 1984, Aritzia operates more than 100 locations across North America and has increasingly appeared on red carpets as stars embrace “quiet luxury” dressing.

Antonelli joined “Outer Banks” at age 15 for its first season. The show follows rival groups of teenagers — the wealthy Kooks and working-class Pogues — as they hunt for treasure along the North Carolina coast. Her character Wheezie is the younger sister of Sarah Cameron, played by Madelyn Cline, and the daughter of Ward Cameron, the show’s primary antagonist.

In the viral moment that launched the series to Netflix’s top spot, the Season 1 finale saw the Pogues discovering the Royal Merchant gold after a season of near-death escapes, betrayals, and a hurricane that nearly killed half the cast. The show’s blend of teen drama, treasure hunting, and class warfare turned its young cast into instant stars.

The Season 5 premiere marks one of the final promotional appearances for the cast, as Netflix announced last year that the upcoming season would be the show’s last. The series finale is expected to resolve long-running storylines including the fate of the Royal Merchant treasure and the ongoing conflict between the Kooks and Pogues.

Antonelli has largely kept her personal style low-key on social media, where she has accumulated a significant following since the show’s premiere. Her Aritzia choice follows a broader trend of young stars opting for ready-to-wear over custom couture at promotional events.

The “Outer Banks” Season 5 premiere took place as the cast gathered for their final round of promotional duties before the show’s conclusion.
