Jodie Sweetin has revealed she and husband Mescal Wasilewski sleep in separate twin beds pushed together.
The “Full House” star, 44, detailed the unconventional arrangement on Monday’s episode of the “Good Guys” podcast with hosts Josh Peck and Ben Soffer. Sweetin, who married Wasilewski, 56, in July 2022, explained that their setup features “two twin beds pushed up against each other in a king-size thing with two separate duvets.”
“That is the smallest, biggest difference,” she told Peck and Soffer. “I can roll over and wrap myself up like a burrito, he can do whatever, and we’re not fighting over it in the middle of the night. So no one wakes up angry that they’re cold.”
The actress emphasized that their sleeping arrangement “is key, because you’re not fighting over the blanket.”
Sweetin also argued that “not sex, but actual sleeping” is what “drives most couples nuts.” She described Wasilewski, a clinic social worker, as “the lightest, worst sleeper.”
“My husband is the lightest, worst sleeper,” she said. “Once I’m out — takes me a minute to go out — and once I’m out, I’m dead to the world.”
“There could be bombs going off, and nothing. He, you know, a mouse whispers downstairs and he’s like, ‘Oh my god! I heard it,'” Sweetin continued. She added that sometimes “it’s a nightmare to sleep with someone else next to you.”
Earlier in the episode, Sweetin described herself and Wasilewski as “very independent people.” She explained that he “goes and does his thing” for work, while she’ll “go travel and do something.”
“Our dream goal sort of thing is to own property somewhere, and I want a few little tiny homes on it,” she shared. “He gets his tiny home, I get my tiny home, and then there’s the middle one.”
Sweetin also joked that since she’s “been married four times,” she’s learned to enjoy having her own space.
In the viral moment that established her marital history, Sweetin was previously married to LAPD officer Shaun Holguin from 2002 to 2006, film transportation coordinator Cody Herpin from 2007 to 2010, and musician and DJ Morty Coyle from 2012 to 2016. She shares daughter Zoie, 18, with Herpin and daughter Beatrix, 15, with Coyle. Sweetin and Wasilewski tied the knot in Malibu, Calif. In July 2022, six months after they engaged.
“I know I have the right partner for the rest of whatever life brings me,” Sweetin said after the nuptials. “And I couldn’t be more grateful,” she added.
