Jen Shah stepped back into the public eye at a Utah Utes football game this past Saturday, marking her first appearance since completing her full prison sentence.
The former “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star, 51, attended the matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City to support her husband, Sharrieff Shah, 55, the team’s associate head coach, cornerbacks coach and special teams coordinator. She documented the outing in a TikTok video set to Sexyy Red’s 2024 track “She’s Back.”
In the 39-second clip, Shah wore a white dress, thigh-high boots and black sunglasses as she walked on the field and waved to the crowd. The video later showed her in the stands cheering on Utah, which defeated Arkansas 43-10. At the end, she kissed and hugged Sharrieff, whom she has been married to since 1994.
“Back in my favorite place, cheering for my favorite Coach,” she captioned her TikTok post. “So grateful to be here. ❤️.”
The couple share two sons: Sharieff Jr., 32, and Omar, 23.
Shah’s return to the stadium stands follows her completion of an eight-month home confinement period that began after her release from federal prison. She had been sentenced to six and a half years behind bars in January 2023 and reported to prison the following month.
“Today, I feel blessed. I feel free. And I’m excited to see what happens next,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Aug. 28, confirming she had finished her sentence.
Shah was arrested in March 2021 and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering. At that time, she was filming “RHOSLC” Season 2 but ultimately exited the Bravo series after Season 3. Though she initially pleaded not guilty to both charges, she changed her plea to guilty on the first charge in July 2022.
Her sentence was reduced multiple times before she was officially released from the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, in December 2024, after serving nearly three years. The eight months of home confinement followed that release.
During her time incarcerated, Shah said she took time to “revaluate” her choices and the people she allowed into her life.
“I can see those things today in a way I couldn’t then, and I take responsibility for the decisions that were mine,” she stated in her Aug. 28 comments.
She continued, “Today, more than anything, I feel grateful, hopeful and genuinely excited about the future.”
The TikTok post marked a notable shift from the home confinement that had kept her largely out of public view since her prison release. The choice of soundtrack—Sexyy Red’s “She’s Back”—and the stadium setting underscored a deliberate re-emergence.
Shah’s legal troubles stemmed from a telemarketing fraud scheme that prosecutors said targeted elderly victims. The case drew extensive media attention in part because of her reality television profile, with cameras capturing the aftermath of her arrest during “RHOSLC” production.
The former Bravo personality has not announced any professional projects since completing her sentence, though her social media activity suggests she is reestablishing her public presence. Her husband’s continued employment with the Utah football program provided a natural setting for her return to documented public life.
The Utes’ dominant 43-10 victory over Arkansas offered a celebratory backdrop for the occasion.
