Gael Cameron has spoken out about losing herself in the aftermath of her ex-boyfriend Nathan Gallagher’s domestic violence arrest.
The “Below Deck Mediterranean” alum, 30, shared a raw confession on Instagram Saturday, admitting the ordeal took a heavier toll than she let on. “You handled it so well. No, I didn’t,” she wrote. “I lost myself, I lost my spark. I didn’t handle it.”
Instead, Cameron credited her best friend for carrying her through. “My best friend did. She sat with me, let me talk about the same thing 50,000 times,” she continued on the platform.
The post marks Cameron’s most candid revelation yet about the December 2025 incident in Sydney, where Gallagher was arrested on domestic violence charges. Police alleged the 29-year-old woman he attacked was Cameron herself, according to a police report. The charges include assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent and common assault.
Authorities have since ordered police to arrest Gallagher and bring him to court for the alleged assault. He also faces a separate assault charge from an incident four years prior.
Cameron and Gallagher share 1-year-old son Kayden. She first broke her silence earlier this month through Instagram Stories, thanking supporters for rallying around her and her child. “Hey guys, I just want to say thank you so much for the support you’ve shown for Kayden and I,” she wrote at the time.
The reality star added that she had spent recent months focused on recovery. “It’s been a tough season, but I have been using the past few months to quietly heal and rebuild for little man and myself,” she shared.
Gallagher addressed the breakup and incident in an August interview. “I’m not claiming I was perfect. I wasn’t,” he said. “I made mistakes and I will take responsibility for my own actions.”
He pushed back on the narrative surrounding him, however. “But I will not accept being portrayed solely through one person’s account of a relationship when there is another side and evidence relating to it,” Gallagher continued. He argued it was not “fair for one version of events to be presented publicly as though it is the complete story,” and claimed to possess “evidence that may materially contradict or provide significant context to that account.”
Gallagher appeared on the Bravo spinoff for three seasons, including its current 11th installment. Production wrapped in December 2025, before his legal troubles escalated.
Bravo severed ties with Gallagher after his arrest made headlines. “Bravo does not plan on working with Nathan in the future,” a network spokesperson said on Sept. 4. The network has no plans to edit him out of the current season’s footage, the outlet learned.
Cameron’s latest Instagram post suggests her public gratitude masked private struggle. The contrast between her earlier “quietly heal” message and her new admission that she “didn’t handle it” reveals the gap between her public face and personal experience.
Gallagher’s court proceedings are pending as police execute the arrest order.
