Presley Gerber’s final Instagram post captured him smiling in an all-black Vuori outfit more than a month before his death.
The model, 27, shared the carousel of images on Aug. 5, standing barefoot outdoors in what appeared to be a garden setting with his hands in his pockets. He simply tagged the clothing brand in the caption without additional comment. The post has since become a gathering point for grieving fans, who flooded the comments section with condolences after learning he died Sept. 20 at an undisclosed rehab facility.
“May you rest in peace and find eternal happiness up above,” wrote one user beneath the photos.
“Heartbroken. Praying you are at peace. You didn’t deserve this fate. Sending love and light. I’m so sorry the world failed you,” commented another, adding broken-heart, prayer and dove emojis.
A third mourner posted, “No more suffering than the angels welcoming you with dignity,” alongside lips and prayer-hand emojis.
The family issued a brief statement through the outlet confirming the death occurred Sunday and requesting privacy. “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” they said. A cause of death has not yet been determined.
Presley’s sister, Kaia Gerber, had spoken publicly about her brother’s openness just weeks before his passing. The “Mother Mary” actress, 25, told Vogue last month that she viewed him as an important teacher for others struggling with similar challenges.
“We have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone,'” she shared. “There’s only so much you can hide from the world.”
She added that concealing such struggles only deepens the pain for those experiencing them. “And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them,” she continued.
Presley’s last known public appearance came in June at the We Are ENOUGH x Aviator Nation launch event at Aviator Nation Dreamland in Malibu, California, where he appeared alongside his famous parents. During a panel discussion there, he spoke about his decision to discontinue psychiatric medications in an effort to better distinguish his authentic self from other internal voices.
The Vuori post marked a rare moment of visible contentment from a young man who had spent years navigating addiction and mental health battles in the public eye. Born to one of modeling’s most iconic couples, Presley had worked as a model himself while periodically drawing attention for personal struggles, including a 2020 DUI arrest and subsequent probation.
His June remarks about coming off “various medications” offered a window into his ongoing efforts to manage his wellbeing through alternative approaches. The appearance with Crawford, 58, and Rande Gerber, 62, represented one of the final times the family would be photographed together publicly.
