Olivia Culpo fired back at body shamers commenting on her pregnancy weight gain.
The former Miss Universe, 34, who is 37 weeks pregnant with her second child with husband Christian McCaffrey, 30, addressed critics via TikTok on Wednesday after social media users expressed surprise at how much she “really blows up” while expecting. Culpo made clear she sees her changing body as proof her baby is thriving rather than something to fear.
“I take a lot of pride in the fact that I am growing a baby,” she told viewers. “Every time I see that I’m growing, I always think that my baby’s growing — and that means that my baby’s healthy.”
The “Culpo Sisters” alum emphasized she has “no need to be worried” about her appearance despite cultural pressure, noting “everybody getting skinny… These days.” She described her growing body as “the most vulnerable” part of building a family while framing pregnancy as “[doing] the most selfless thing that [I] could ever do for the best reason ever.”
McCaffrey, whom Culpo called “so in shape… And just so annoyingly perfect in every single way,” has offered his own reassurance. The San Francisco 49ers running back advised her to “give [her]self a year” of grace as her body changes.
Culpo acknowledged the comparison trap many new mothers face. “A lot of people — including myself — compare, like, ‘Oh, this person got so skinny so fast,'” she explained during the makeup application video. “You don’t know if that person was breastfeeding. You don’t know what that person’s supply was like. You don’t know what that person’s labor was like.”
“The only thing you can control is what you’re doing as a mother for your child,” she added. “Everything else is just noise.”
The pregnancy comes just six months after Culpo gave birth to daughter Colette, now 1, in July 2025. The back-to-back pregnancies were unexpected; Culpo told TikTok followers in May that she had finally started to “get [her] groove back” postpartum when she conceived again.
“I was working out,” she recalled. “I could see some abs coming. That’s just not what the body wants right now.”
Still, she emphasized feeling “so fortunate to be able to bring another child into the world.” The couple announced the second pregnancy via Instagram in May.
Culpo and McCaffrey have been together since 2019. The NFL player proposed in 2023, and they married in June 2024.
The timing of this delivery presents a scheduling challenge for McCaffrey. The athlete will be present for Culpo’s scheduled C-section but must leave “the same day” for a game. Culpo maintained perspective on the arrangement, noting Wednesday that some fathers “legitimately miss the birth of their child.”
“I should be grateful because some guys legitimately miss the birth of their child,” she said. “At least I get to plan that it’s a C-section.”
The former pageant winner’s candid approach to pregnancy body changes has resonated across her platforms, where she has documented both the physical and emotional realities of rapid successive pregnancies.
