Dua Lipa has unveiled her most daring fashion experiment yet: a halter-neck top constructed from hundreds of individual buttons.
The pop star, 29, revealed the avant-garde look in an Instagram post last week during a brief stop in London, sharing four images that showcased the intricate design. The top, created by designer Lou de Bètoly, features open-weave mesh and buttons in varying shades of blue that produce an ombré effect across the garment.
De Bètoly disclosed on their Instagram account that the piece was “crocheted with 740 collected buttons.”
Lipa elevated the unconventional top with luxury accessories, including an 18K rose gold Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori watch valued at $39,800 and several stacked rings. The combination of high fashion craftsmanship and precious jewelry underscored the singer’s commitment to bold style statements.
This latest reveal arrives as Lipa continues to push boundaries with revealing ensembles. She has previously embraced the exposed thong trend, appeared in a fully see-through crystal mesh dress at the 2023 Barbie premiere, and most recently stepped out in a sequined gown that remained completely open along both sides.
The London visit came just one day after Lipa posted a social media slideshow documenting time with friends in Italy. For an evening at the opera during that trip, she selected a semi-sheer black Ashi studio gown with lacing that extended from the neckline to the ankles along the back.
Her husband, actor Callum Turner, 34, did not appear in either set of travel images. The couple married in May during a ceremony where Lipa wore Chanel Haute Couture, then departed for an Italian honeymoon that featured prominently on both of their Instagram accounts.
Turner reflected on the wedding during an interview with Esquire last month.
