Melody Morris has ruled out any romance with Drew Campbell once the “Big Brother 28” cameras stop rolling.
The 24-year-old corporate game show host, who was evicted Wednesday at the final five, said she wants to stay friends with Campbell, 22, but drew a hard line at dating. “I love Drew and I think he’s awesome,” Morris said in her exclusive post-eviction interview. “I wanna continue to be his friend, but there is a lot of traits that Drew has that I would never want to date.”
Morris and Campbell had spent weeks in a close “flirtmance” alliance that fueled speculation about a real-world relationship. Their bond appeared genuine in the house’s final days. Before walking out the door, Morris tearfully embraced Campbell and begged him, “Please win this, please.”
In her Diary Room confessional filmed after the eviction, Morris admitted she “already miss[ed]” Campbell. Campbell returned the sentiment with an emotional DR of his own. “It’s really hard to see Melody walk out that door today,” he said. “But I feel like through this vote, I got to prove my loyalty for once.”
Campbell, a surgical dental assistant, has now pledged to channel his grief into gameplay. “I’ve only got one choice left, and that’s win this whole thing for her,” he continued. “Because if she can’t do it, I guess I have to.”
Morris’s warm feelings toward Campbell stand in sharp contrast to the bitterness other evicted houseguests have directed his way. Yash Patel, 24, who fell victim to last week’s double eviction, blasted Campbell in his own interview. “In terms of the game, you best believe I have hard feelings towards him about that decision,” the finance analyst said.
Patel went further during his exit interview with Julie Chen Moonves, calling out Campbell’s “weaselly” gameplay and declaring he “was never somebody I could really trust to begin with.”
Mallory Aurichio, 24, echoed that betrayal after her Aug. 27 eviction. “I’m surprised about a lot of the stuff that Drew has done,” the rocket scientist said. “I had been kind of assuming he had my best interests, and he didn’t.”
Campbell’s cutthroat strategy has carried him to the final four, where he now faces school counselor Taylor Brown and “Survivor” alums Dee Valladares and Rick Devens. Morris, meanwhile, joins Patel, Barrett Pfeiffer, Angela Murray and LaTrice Verrett on the jury that will ultimately crown the season’s winner.
The split between Morris’s personal affection and her romantic disinterest in Campbell caps a season-long dynamic that kept viewers guessing. Their alliance blended genuine emotional connection with strategic necessity, a mix that Morris now seems eager to untangle once back in the real world.
Whether Campbell can overcome the jury’s growing resentment remains the central question heading into the season’s final stretch. His path to victory likely depends on convincing players like Morris that his loyalty to her was real, even if his gameplay elsewhere drew blood.
