Nkechi Diallo, formerly Rachel Dolezal, has offered to break bread with the Philadelphia activist now facing her own racial identity scandal.
Diallo, 47, who runs a sex coaching practice and an OnlyFans account, told The Post she would sit down with Hannah Gann, 34, the white Jewish woman recently exposed for posing as Black and Palestinian. The offer came by phone this week as Gann’s decade-long deception unraveled across Philadelphia’s activist circles.
“If she identifies as Palestinian or Jewish or white or blue or green or whatever, is she doing good work? Is she making a difference?” Diallo said. “People in activist causes have all different kinds of personal lives.”
Diallo pushed back against what she sees as a rush to invalidate Gann entirely.
“But if somebody says something we don’t agree with, or they say something that’s not my truth, we flatten it into everything they’ve ever done is now not valid,” she continued.
The comparison between the two women has circulated widely since Monday, when Gann confessed she is a “white woman of significant privilege and wealth,” Diallo said strangers had been asking if they were related, prompting her to look into the story herself. She dismissed the parallel, instead likening Gann to Jessica Krug, the former George Washington University professor who fabricated a Black identity and later blamed mental illness.
“Hannah Gann sounds more similar to Jessica Krug than me,” Diallo said.
Gann’s undoing began when two local far-left groups questioned her background. She had built a reputation as a fixture in Philadelphia’s radical activist scene, leading anti-Israel protests in public schools and posting social media videos where she denounced racism and imperialism. Critics noted she adopted what they called a “blaccent” during these appearances, and she was frequently seen with heavy bronzer, hoop earrings and long acrylic nails. A mobile billboard parked outside The Workshop School, where she taught, named her “Philadelphia’s Leading Antisemite.”
Her actual upbringing stood in sharp contrast to the persona she constructed. Gann grew up in a $1.8 million home in Falls Church, Virginia, one of the country’s wealthiest suburbs. Her father, Hal Gann, is a prominent tax attorney and Yale Law School graduate. Her mother, Susan Gann, is a Democratic donor. Friends told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Gann does have relatives currently living in the West Bank.
Diallo said she would keep any meeting private, laughing that she would be “the only person who wouldn’t tell anybody about that conversation.” When asked what she would raise with Gann, she emphasized listening over interrogating.
“Girl, tell me your story. Headlines are saying one thing, how did you get to where you are and where do you go from here?”
Diallo’s own history gives her a rare perspective on Gann’s predicament. In 2015, while serving as president of the Spokane, Washington, chapter of the NAACP, she was exposed as white, born to parents in Montana, after years of presenting herself as Black. The revelation cost her the NAACP post and made her a national symbol of racial deception. She later changed her name to Nkechi Amare Diallo and has continued to identify as Black, most recently telling The Hollywood Reporter that media coverage “warped” her life story.
Gann did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
