Chris Brown is facing fresh backlash after footage from his joint tour with Usher showed him simulating sex acts with a fan onstage at SoFi Stadium.
The 37-year-old R&B singer brought a woman on stage during Saturday’s show in Inglewood, California, where he performed explicit choreography that left many viewers online calling it “gross” and “too far.” The incident came midway through the pair’s ongoing R&B Tour stop at the packed venue.
Video of the encounter shows the fan chained to a pole as Brown licked her arm, felt her body, and humped her leg. He then picked her up and continued the simulated routine before standing her back up and kissing or licking her neck.
The footage triggered an immediate wave of criticism across social media platforms. “Well that was a little bit gross,” one viewer wrote in a comment section. Another added: “That’s so awkward…” A third chimed in with “Oooookay that was a little bit much,” while a fourth called the display “really crazy” for a concert setting. One particularly pointed reaction summed up the broader sentiment: “I have to admit, I think this goes a little too far.”
Not everyone expressed shock, however. Some longtime followers noted the routine fits a well-established pattern in Brown’s live performances. “Pretty sure everyone saw that coming…” one user fired back, responding directly to a video caption that claimed “nobody saw that coming.” Another commenter observed: “The way she got on that pole like it was the most normal thing in the world and breezy just kept singing like yeah thats my job.” A third blasted the framing directly: “Nobody saw that coming? Just days earlier, Usher made news when he booted a different fan off stage in Nashville after she gave a painfully awkward response to his signature seductive dance moves during their show there. That fan later took to social media to defend herself and her outfit choice.
Brown’s explicit stage routines have become a recurring feature of his concerts rather than an isolated controversy, with Saturday’s California show representing the latest flashpoint in an ongoing debate about boundaries between performers and audience members at live events.
