Mabel Lowe has broken her silence on the death of her younger sister Fiona.
Mabel, 17, posted a tribute on Instagram Saturday that included childhood photos of the sisters together and a final image of Fiona dancing. “I love you so much fiona ❤️ i wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now,” she wrote in the caption. “I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much.”

The Lowe family — Chad, 58, his wife Kim Painter, and daughters Mabel, 17, Fiona, 13, and Nixie, 10 — announced Tuesday that Fiona had died. “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance,” the family said in a statement. “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

The statement concluded with a plea for those struggling with mental health to contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Mabel shared the family statement on her Instagram Stories Wednesday alongside a photo of Fiona grinning at the camera.

Los Angeles Medical Examiner records viewed Friday confirmed Fiona’s cause of death was suicide. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Chad’s father, Charles “Chuck” Lowe, honored his granddaughter Thursday with a poolside photo of her smiling. “Rest in peace, sweet Fiona,” he wrote in the caption.

Fiona’s dance teacher, Kendra Andrews, also posted a throwback rehearsal video with a tribute writing in part, “We will never be the same without you here.”

The Lowe family has kept a relatively low public profile over the years. Chad, known for “Pretty Little Liars” and “Bones,” is the younger brother of “Wayne’s World” star Rob Lowe. Fiona’s last red carpet appearance came at the Feb. 4, 2023 premiere of Marvel’s “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” in Burbank, California, where she posed between her sisters with her father’s arm around Mabel.

Chad has spoken repeatedly about the centrality of fatherhood to his life. On the “Still Here Hollywood” podcast in August 2024, he reflected on his experience raising daughters. “It’s so interesting because always wanting to have my own experiences and not live in the shadow or follow in the footsteps of somebody, I get the experience of being a girl dad, which is such a privilege,” he said.

That perspective deepened after the Palisades fire destroyed the family’s home in February 2024. Chad posted photos of his family surveying the damage and wrote that being their dad remained his “greatest joy and privilege.” “I am in awe of their spirit and resilience,” he shared on Instagram. “Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose.”

The family has not announced any public memorial plans.
