Gypsy Rose Blanchard has issued a fresh statement thanking supporters following the death of her former fiancé Ken Urker.
Blanchard, 35, took to Instagram Stories on Monday morning to address the outpouring of messages she had received since Urker was found dead in his Louisiana home last Thursday, which was also his 34th birthday. The “Life After Lockup” star explained that she could not respond to every message individually but wanted her followers to know their outreach had reached her.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has reached out with love, prayers and condolences,” she wrote. “Please know I see them, and I’m so grateful.”

The brief expression of appreciation came with a pointed final request. She concluded her Instagram Stories message by asking followers to “please sign and share my petition,” redirecting attention to a cause she had launched just days earlier.
Blanchard first introduced the online harassment petition over the weekend, framing it as a response to what she described as the “overwhelming amount of online scrutiny” Urker had endured. She argued that this attention had “crossed the line into targeted harassment and cyberbullying,” and she is now pushing for what she calls “Kenan’s Law” to reform how social-media platforms process repeated harassment reports.

“Public figures are still human beings, and fame should never erase someone’s humanity,” she wrote in her petition materials, emphasizing that systemic change could protect others from similar experiences.
The reality star has cast her advocacy as an effort to convert personal tragedy into broader action. “I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening,” she shared, adding that she is determined to turn her “pain into purpose.”

Urker’s body was discovered with drugs, drug paraphernalia and a handgun present, though his official cause of death remains unconfirmed. Blanchard had initially stated that he died of an overdose, but authorities have not verified that account.
The couple’s relationship status at the time of Urker’s death has drawn significant attention. They had quietly ended their engagement approximately one month before the incident, according to sources who spoke Friday. “They officially broke up about a month ago, but then they were living apart for about two months,” one source detailed. The same insider described the separation as genuinely mutual rather than acrimonious: “It was nothing nasty. It was just a mutual agreement. They were co-parenting. … They were in touch every few days checking in on Aurora.”
Blanchard and Urker share a one-year-old daughter, Aurora, born in December 2024 following their 2024 reconciliation. Their romantic history stretches back to 2017, when Urker began writing to Blanchard while she was incarcerated for her role in the 2015 death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. The pair became engaged in 2018, then separated the following year. Blanchard subsequently married and divorced Ryan Scott Anderson before reuniting with Urker last year.

In her first public response to Urker’s death, Blanchard offered an emotional tribute on Instagram alongside previously unseen photographs of him. “Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved,” she wrote. “He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance and even death can never erase.”

She added in a separate post: “You will always be my greatest love story. You will be remembered and loved forever. ❤️.”

The petition push represents Blanchard’s most concrete action since Urker’s death, though she has not indicated what specific timeline or legislative pathway she envisions for “Kenan’s Law.” Her focus on platform accountability marks a shift from her initial grief-focused statements toward policy-oriented advocacy.
Blanchard served roughly eight years of a ten-year sentence for second-degree murder before her release in December 2023, gaining national attention both for her case and her subsequent media appearances. Her relationship with Urker had been a recurring storyline in her public life since her incarceration.

The circumstances of Urker’s death remain under investigation by Louisiana authorities, with no additional official statements released as of Monday.
Blanchard’s petition continues to circulate across social platforms as she seeks to build momentum for platform policy changes in Urker’s name.
