Chrishell Stause has publicly slammed her ex-boyfriend Jason Oppenheim over a Tesla video he posted online.
The Selling Sunset star, 43, fired back at Oppenheim, 48, on Threads after the real estate broker shared a clip praising Elon Musk’s electric vehicles and their full self-driving capabilities. Stause, who married Australian musician G Flip in 2023, had previously maintained cordial relations with her former boss following their 2021 split.
Oppenheim’s video featured him sitting in his Tesla making what he called a “public service announcement” about the technology. “Guys this is the most important video that I’ve ever posted,” he said in the clip. “I just bought a Tesla, and the full self-driving capabilities are life changing.”
The Oppenheim Group founder demonstrated the car’s AI by asking Grok to navigate him to his office, then admitted to texting and emailing while the vehicle operated itself. “It’s 25 times safer than the distracted driver, and I’m a distracted driver quite often, because I’m texting or checking an email or I’m on the phone,” he said. “This self-driving technology is removing the biggest risk in my life.”
Oppenheim revealed he had pressured his twin brother Brett into purchasing one during a phone call. “He bought one while we were talking,” Jason said, adding that he had given his Bentley to their father because the Tesla rendered it unnecessary.

The broker then announced plans to buy ten of his employees their own Tesla vehicles with full self-driving capability. “I’m buying 10 of my employees a Tesla with FSD,” he said. “It’s 8x safer than the average driver. There’s nothing more important than the safety of you and your loved ones.”
Stause responded directly to the video on Threads with a cutting remark tying Oppenheim’s enthusiasm to broader controversies surrounding Musk. “Coming up on season 10 of Selling Sunset: Being a c*ck for Elon,” she wrote.
She then shared an article with the headline: “Child sexual abuse survivor alleges Elon Musk’s AI chatbot used photos of her to generate new illegal images.” Musk has denied knowledge that Grok ever produced “any naked underage images.”

Stause and Oppenheim began dating in 2021, two years after she joined The Oppenheim Group for the Netflix reality series that premiered in 2018. They went public with their relationship after two months together but split that December, with Stause stating they wanted different things. She subsequently found love with G Flip and wed the non-binary musician in 2023.
Tesla vehicles range from approximately $36,990 for the base Model 3 to over $114,990 for the high-end Cyberbeast, with the full self-driving subscription adding $99 monthly. No verified statistics currently support the specific safety multiples Oppenheim cited in his video.
