Layla Taylor has made her red carpet debut with girlfriend Kelsie Chesser.
The “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star, 25, and Chesser stepped out arm-in-arm at the Virtual Reali-Tea Awards 2026 in New York City on Tuesday, marking their first official appearance as a couple at a public event. Taylor wore an asymmetrical floral corset dress with a pleated skirt and light blue strappy heels, while Chesser opted for a navy blue suit, black shoes, and a simple gold necklace.

Taylor came out as bisexual in June during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast. “I’m gay and I’m bi and date women and men,” she said on the show. She explained at the time that she was “talking to” a woman who had first connected with her by liking an Instagram photo, describing her as “emotionally aware” and “very patient.”
“She’s just been very understanding and letting me take this at my own pace because it is just still foreign to me and it is so new. [It’s the] level of understanding and just being there for me,” the MomTok influencer shared on the podcast.

Taylor also noted that coming out was “just something that [she] honestly didn’t really know how to formally address for a long period of [her] life.” Now, she said, she’s “finally in the era” of feeling comfortable with “show[ing] every part of Layla to the world.”

By July, Taylor had offered fans a first glimpse of her new relationship with a clip showing only her girlfriend’s tattooed arms as the two held hands. “‘You’re glowing lately.’ Thanks I’m dating a woman now,” she wrote atop the clip. She added in the caption, “Chivalry isn’t dead it’s [with] the lesbians.”
Later that month, Chesser herself revealed their relationship on TikTok with a video set to Beyoncé’s “Partition.” “When I slid into my girlfriend’s DMs just hoping she was into girls,” Chesser captioned the post. “Thankful she was 🙂↕️ #wlw #girlfriend.” Taylor confirmed the romance in the comments, simply writing, “Folded.”

The Utah-based reality star was married to Clayton Wessel from 2020 to 2025, and the former couple shares two young sons. Taylor rose to fame as part of the cast of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which follows a group of Mormon influencers in Utah known as MomTok.

The VRT Awards event was sponsored by Tri-State Cadillac, CoverGirl, Philo, and Kahlúa. Philo serves as the exclusive streaming partner for the 2026 VRT Awards, with the full show available free on the platform’s ad-supported service starting Oct. 9.

Taylor’s relationship with Chesser represents a new chapter for the reality personality, who has been open about navigating her sexuality publicly while co-parenting her children following her divorce.

The VRT Awards ceremony took place Tuesday in New York City.
