Kourtney Kardashian Responds to Jennifer Lawrence’s Claim She’s ‘More Annoying Than Ever’

Kourtney Kardashian has finally addressed Jennifer Lawrence’s blunt assessment that the reality star is “more annoying than ever.”

The Poosh founder, 46, opened up about the comments during the season eight premiere of The Kardashians, which aired October 8. She told her longtime friend Simon Huck that Lawrence reached out by email after the remarks surfaced, attempting to soften the blow with a sisterly framing.

“She’s like, ‘I just feel like I’m one of your sisters,'” Kourtney recounted from the actress’s message. “‘And when I rewatched it, I was like, “Oh, it’s not that bad actually.”‘”

Kourtney’s reaction was decidedly less diplomatic. She said she told her mother, Kris Jenner, “OK, she thinks she’s one of my sisters, I’ll f—— slap the s— out of her.”

The exchange originated from a Vanity Fair lie detector interview conducted last November, where Lawrence, 34, sat alongside Robert Pattinson to promote their psychological drama Die My Love. Pattinson held up a photo of Khloé Kardashian and asked if she was Lawrence’s favorite, which the Oscar winner confirmed. When Kourtney’s name came up, Lawrence did not hold back.

“Kourtney is more annoying than ever. She drives me nuts,” Lawrence said during the test. She also criticized what she saw as the family’s tendency toward self-important announcements. “Everything has to be an announcement: ‘I’m not gonna wear outfits anymore.’ Just wear whatever you want. Don’t make an announcement about it. Or, ‘I don’t have a TV in my room.’ Just don’t watch TV. Stop announcing it.”

Kourtney explained to Huck that the timing compounded the sting. “It was also a sensitive week when she sent it,” she said. “I felt like our show was airing and everybody was ganging up on me.” The mother of four — Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11, with ex Scott Disick, plus Rocky, 2, with husband Travis Barker — said she initially took the criticism personally.

Her proposed solution leaned into the very dynamic Lawrence claimed. Kourtney claimed she told Jenner, “‘Invite her over,’ and we can—I’ll go for it like she’s my sister.” She then referenced the explosive 2020 physical fight with Kim Kardashian that became one of the show’s most infamous moments. “I’ll just say, ‘Next time you wanna come over, we can go at it, Kourtney and Kim style,'” she joked.

Lawrence herself has since expressed regret about how her words traveled. Appearing on Amy Poehler’s podcast Good Hang a few weeks before the episode aired, the Silver Linings Playbook star admitted she found her own press persona unhinged. “I think that when I do press, I should do half than what normal people do because I see my quotes and they are insane,” she told Poehler. “Like, Jennifer Lawrence calls Kourtney Kardashian annoying, it is just too, you know, it carries.”

Poehler had introduced the topic by noting Lawrence’s unusual combination of fame and unfiltered authenticity. “You are so famous and so real and those two things are not always the case,” the comedian said.

The original Vanity Fair session paired Lawrence with Pattinson as both stars navigated promotional obligations for Die My Love, their upcoming collaboration. The lie detector format encouraged candid responses, and Lawrence’s Kardashian commentary emerged alongside her preference for Khloé and her broader irritation with the family’s public proclamations about lifestyle changes.

Kourtney’s season eight premiere confession marks the first time she has spoken at length about the incident, transforming what began as a celebrity magazine bit into ongoing reality television fodder. Her willingness to escalate hypothetically — invoking the same violent sisterly clashes that have defined her show’s most viral moments — suggests she has absorbed the critique into her established on-screen persona rather than distancing from it.

Lawrence, for her part, appears to have recognized the asymmetry of their platforms. Where her single sentence became a headline, Kourtney received an entire episode to contextualize, reframe, and ultimately weaponize the insult on her own terms.
