Khloe Kardashian has fired back at viewers who bashed the family’s AI-themed season opener before watching it through.
The 40-year-old reality star took to Instagram this week after social media users slammed the artificial-intelligence sequence that launched season eight of The Kardashians on Hulu. She posted the full clip to her Stories with a pointed message for the rush-to-judgment crowd.
“WATCH UNTIL THE END,” she wrote alongside the video. “Seeing people comment while only watching the first few seconds is frustrating but also typical these days.”
The backlash had begun almost immediately after the episode dropped, with critics zeroing in on the family’s use of AI rather than the scene’s actual message. One social media user fired off: “So how many gallons of freshwater were wasted for this AI video???” Another piled on: “You still used AI, making the product something NOT WANTED, NOT NEEDED.”

The sequence in question was designed as a statement against AI itself, not an endorsement of it. The episode opened with each family member appearing in a glamorous, seemingly perfect setting — Kris Jenner, 69, on a yacht in St. Tropez; Kourtney Kardashian, 46, in Japan; Khloe on a Kenyan safari; Kendall Jenner, 29, and Kylie Jenner, 27, at a party in Versailles; and Kim Kardashian, 44, in a Swiss ski chalet. The glamorous tableaux quickly unraveled as bizarre glitches emerged: Kylie sprouted a tail, Khloe developed an oversized eye, and Kim’s ear swelled to an unnatural size.
The “real” family then stormed in to confront their distorted digital doubles, leading to a debate about AI’s role in society before the real Khloe dramatically hit a “kill switch” on the artificial versions. The scene was meant to show the family could not be replaced by technology, though some viewers missed that twist entirely.

The new season, which Hulu promoted as a “new chapter,” follows the family through what the official synopsis calls “love, reinvention and what comes next.” The logline promises empire-building alongside “unexpected sparks and new relationships, to healing old wounds and embracing independence.” The AI opener was the first taste of that reinvention, though it landed with mixed results among fans already divided over the show’s direction.
Khloe’s pushback highlighted a familiar pattern for the family: high-concept stunts drawing instant outrage from audiences who react to screenshots and clips rather than full context. Her frustration centered on viewers who condemned the segment as pro-AI without reaching the reveal that the family destroys their digital counterparts.
Season eight of The Kardashians is now streaming on Hulu.
