Police in Santa Rosa, California are urgently searching for a 13-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man who vanished within days of each other and are believed to be traveling together.
Deanna Mendoza Pfoutz, 13, was reported missing on October 1, while Jaden Wilson, 19, was last seen by family members on October 2. The Santa Rosa Police Department posted on Facebook that both teenagers are considered “voluntarily missing” and that investigators believe they are together.
“The Santa Rosa Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating two voluntarily missing teenagers who are believed to be together,” the department wrote in its Facebook appeal.
Officers provided detailed descriptions of both individuals in their alert. “Deanna’s description: Hispanic female; approximately 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds; brown hair and hazel eyes; last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, black pajama pants, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack,” the post stated.
Wilson was described as “a Black male who is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds” with “black hair and brown eyes; last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants.”

The timeline of sightings has shifted since the initial reports. Though Wilson was not reported missing until October 5, the pair were spotted together in Petaluma on October 4 and again in Santa Rosa on that same October 5 date. Police have not clarified whether either individual may be the victim of a crime.

A critical factor intensifying the search is Wilson’s undisclosed medical condition, which requires routine treatment. Officers emphasized that anyone who spots the pair should contact the police agency responsible for that jurisdiction rather than approaching them directly.
The Santa Rosa Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch center can be reached at 707-528-5222 for sightings in the area. The SRPD Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Team is also fielding tips at 707-543-3595.

The case has emerged alongside another unrelated disappearance in the same jurisdiction. Hernan Gabriel Rivas Hernandez, 15, was reported missing on October 8. SRPD described him as “last seen wearing all black clothing and white shoes,” standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.
Police have not indicated any connection between the two missing persons cases.
