Dylan Dreyer confirmed she is officially divorced.
The “Today” show co-host, 43, revealed the news Thursday on her “Parent Chat” podcast while explaining why her mother has moved in with her. Dreyer and ex-husband Brian Fichera, 37, were married for 12 years and share three sons: Calvin, 9, Oliver, 6, and Russell, 5.
“Why does my mom live with me? What is happening in my house that I have now taken up residence and have my mom as a roommate? As you know, I’m recently divorced,” Dreyer said on the podcast. “So, my mom has been staying with me for months at a time.”
The couple’s divorce was finalized on May 19, according to court records. Dreyer officially filed on March 10, eight months after the pair announced their separation last July.
Discussions of child support were part of the proceedings, though those details remain sealed from public view.
The separation announcement last summer ended a marriage that began in 2012. Fichera worked as a cameraman at NBC when the two met, and he later became a stay-at-home dad while Dreyer’s career at “Today” continued to rise.
Dreyer has been open about the emotional toll of the split. She previously described herself as “heartbroken” over the end of the marriage, noting there was “something we couldn’t fix” despite efforts to work through their problems.
The meteorologist’s candor about her personal life has extended to her podcast, where she has discussed navigating single motherhood and the practical adjustments of her new reality. Having her mother as a roommate represents one of those adaptations, providing support as she raises the three boys.
Fichera has maintained a lower public profile since the separation, though he has continued to post about his children on social media. The custody arrangement specifics have not been disclosed.
Dreyer continues her regular appearances on “Today,” where she serves as the show’s weekday weather anchor and co-hosts the third hour. Her new podcast spinoff, “Parent Chat,” launched as an extension of her existing brand focused on family and motherhood topics.
