Olivier Martinez stormed out of court Tuesday during closed testimony in his domestic violence restraining order hearing against Halle Berry.
Martinez, 60, exited the Los Angeles County Superior Court courtroom looking agitated and distressed alongside his lawyer, Patrick Baghdaserians, according to eyewitness accounts. The French actor could be heard using profanity during an animated discussion with Baghdaserians regarding testimony before the two made their way to the restroom, returning roughly five minutes later.

The judge had agreed to close the courtroom during any testimony involving the minor child. Jon Hay, a staff member at the school Berry and Martinez’s 13-year-old son Maceo attends, was set to testify in that closed session Tuesday. Hay previously raised concerns about Maceo’s behavior at school, according to a recent court filing.
Berry, 60, also took the stand Tuesday. Martinez is scheduled to testify as well.
Maceo had already testified in person for nearly four hours on the first day of the hearing Monday. The former couple maintained their distance throughout that appearance, trading cold glares across the courtroom.

Martinez filed for a temporary restraining order against Berry and requested sole custody of their child earlier this month. In that filing, he accused Berry of being violent toward their son while her fiancé, Van Hunt, was present.

Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, issued a vigorous denial of the claims, calling them “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.”
Berry’s 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, is set to testify later this week. Aubry, the daughter of the “Monster’s Ball” star and model Gabriel Aubry, 50, previously came to her mother’s defense in a court declaration. “I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way,” she wrote.

Martinez and Berry married in 2013, the same year they welcomed Maceo, before separating two years later. Their divorce was finalized in 2016, though custody arrangements have remained contentious in the years since.

The closed testimony format marks a significant escalation in a dispute that has already drawn multiple family members into legal proceedings. Berry arrived at court Tuesday with Hunt by her side, while Martinez entered separately with his legal team.

Nahla Aubry is expected to take the stand before the hearing concludes.
