Travis Kelce revealed that Taylor Swift cursed out his brother Jason Kelce for an early-morning gym request.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 37, shared the anecdote on Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast alongside his older brother, 38. The pair were recapping Jason’s recent visit to Kansas City, Missouri, where the former Philadelphia Eagles center stayed with the newly married couple.
Jason had flown in with a very specific mission. He called Travis ahead of time to ask how much weight was available in his basement for a daily squat challenge called “Squatober.” Travis simply told him the numbers. “I just told him how many weights I had. And he was like, ‘Oh, okay, cool, I’ll bring some.,'” Travis recalled on the podcast. Jason confirmed he packed two 25 lb. Weights plus extra plates for the squat bar.
The real trouble started once Jason landed. At 7:30 a.m., Travis’s phone rang. “I get a call at 7:30 in the morning. In my mind, I’m thinking worst-case scenario,” Travis said. “I’m like, ‘Oh, s–t. Is everything okay? Maybe after the run Jason’s in the hospital, he blew his knee out or something.'”
But Jason only needed a spotter. “I was just like, ‘No way!'” Travis said, laughing alongside his brother. He decided to get up and help anyway. That choice did not sit well with Swift, 36. “I’m walking out of the room, and Taylor’s like, ‘This is f—ed up,'” Travis shared. He tried to smooth it over: “And I’m just like, ‘Nah, it’ll be good. It’ll be good!'”
Travis later roasted his brother’s dedication to the challenge. “Absolutely hilarious, the most meathead thing I think I’ve ever seen Jason do,” he said with a laugh.
The brothers also confirmed that both Jason and Swift were in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium for Sunday’s Chiefs game against the Los Angeles Chargers. “We were all there in Arrowhead this weekend,” Jason said. “It was a blast.” Kansas City won 22-6.
During that game, Swift made headlines for a separate moment when she was seen gesturing to a fan directly below her VIP suite to stop recording her and watch the field instead. A member of her security team then appeared to ask the fan to put away her phone.
The “Squatober” incident offers a rare glimpse into the couple’s domestic life since their marriage. Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony, with the union drawing intense public interest throughout their relationship.
Jason’s fitness-focused visit came shortly after the couple’s wedding, marking one of the first times he stayed with them as a married pair. His commitment to the squat challenge apparently overrode any concern about sleep schedules.
The “New Heights” podcast, which the brothers co-host, has become a regular venue for behind-the-scenes stories about their lives and relationships.
Travis and Swift will next appear together at the Chiefs’ upcoming home game at Arrowhead Stadium.
