Gypsy Rose Says She Is ‘100 Percent’ Certain Ex Ken Urker Did Not Die by Suicide

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is insisting her ex-fiancé Ken Urker did not die by suicide.

Blanchard, 35, made the claim in a recent update to her Change.org petition launched after Urker was found dead at his Louisiana home on his 34th birthday, October 1. “We do know with 100% certainly [sic] that it was not suicide,” she wrote on the anti-cyberbullying petition. She added that the family is still awaiting toxicology reports from the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office, which has stated there is currently “no definitive cause of death.”

The coroner confirmed to outlets that an autopsy was conducted and the case remains pending completion of toxicology testing. At the time of his death, Urker was found with a handgun, drugs and drug paraphernalia in his residence. An incident report revealed that deputies entered through the front door and located syringes, a spoon and a brown powdery substance in the bathroom, plus a syringe and handgun on the nightstand next to the bed where Urker lay.

Urker “was found lying on the bed on his back, cold to the touch, and appeared to have been there for an extended period of time,” according to the report. Authorities were called after Gypsy Rose’s family member, Anita Blanchard, requested a welfare check when Urker did not show up for work.

Blanchard has pointed to “extreme cyberbullying” as the force that led to his passing. “I often found him reading negative comments,” she shared in the petition update. She elaborated on the toll this took: “Cyber bullying played a huge role in damaging Ken’s mental health and subsequently causing him to use unhealthy coping strategies such as drugs and alcohol.”

The couple share 1-year-old daughter Aurora, born in December 2024. Blanchard is now pushing for legislation she calls “Kenan’s Law,” aimed at establishing “pattern-based harassment reporting.” She is specifically calling on Reddit to investigate a snark page about her, which she claimed “targeted” Urker.

Blanchard and Urker first met in 2017 while she was serving her prison sentence for the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. They became engaged in October 2018 but broke up shortly after. Blanchard then married Ryan Scott Anderson in June 2022, though they divorced two years later. She reconnected with Urker and they welcomed their daughter, though they had quietly split before his death.

Autumn, Urker’s sister, has publicly pushed back against Blanchard’s narrative, telling outlets the family is “disgusted” by her comments. Blanchard fired back on social media, claiming Autumn never “approved” of their relationship. Autumn also revealed Urker’s last words to her before his death, telling AOL.com he had been sleeping with a gun due to threats he received. Blanchard’s final text to Urker before he died came on his birthday, outlets reported.
