Savannah Chrisley, 29, is defending her unborn child after her fiancé’s criminal past drew fresh scrutiny.
The “Chrisley Knows Best” alum took to Instagram Stories to push back against the controversy swirling around her relationship with convicted fraudster Jason Galanis. She purchased a $2.225 million Nashville-area home in February, records show, and Galanis has since moved into the 5,207-square-foot property with her.
“You are not a headline. You are not a controversy,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “You are not defined by anyone’s past, anyone’s mistakes, or anyone’s opinions.”

Chrisley revealed her pregnancy and engagement on Tuesday, identifying her partner only as “J” and “Jason.” She disclosed that the “much-older” man she met in the “world of politics” proposed in the Cayman Islands in December 2025 following nearly two years of dating.
The lavish residence features five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, two fireplaces, a covered patio, wood and marble flooring, a two-car garage, a balcony, walk-in closets, and a gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances.
Galanis, whose full identity emerged after Chrisley’s announcement, was sentenced to 189 months in prison in 2020 for his involvement in multiple financial fraud schemes. He served time at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, where he crossed paths with Savannah’s father, Todd Chrisley.

President Donald Trump commuted Galanis’ prison sentence in March 2025, cutting short his federal term.
The fraudster’s own brother has publicly warned Savannah about the relationship. Derek Galanis, estranged from his sibling, gave an exclusive interview raising alarms about the engagement.

“It’s his biggest con yet,” Derek Galanis claimed. “This girl’s in for a rocky ride.”
“He’s not a changed man, he’s the same dude he always was,” he added.

The brother’s comments added a family dimension to the unfolding scrutiny, with a direct relative casting doubt on Jason’s character rather than anonymous sources.
Before the engagement became public, details about Galanis’ past began surfacing, including a 2012 lawsuit over an unpaid $40,000 balance on a $120,000 diamond bracelet involving him and his then-wife, Monet Berger.

The overlap between Galanis and Todd Chrisley at the Florida prison camp created an unusual connection between the two men now linked through Savannah, though the circumstances of any interaction between the inmate and his future father-in-law remain unreported.
Savannah’s social media defense focused specifically on shielding her pregnancy from the backlash, framing the unborn child as separate from the adult controversies surrounding the parents.

The engagement timeline places the proposal in December 2025, meaning the couple had been together since approximately early 2024 while Galanis was still serving his sentence or in the immediate aftermath of his commutation.

Chrisley has built her public profile through reality television and podcasting, expanding beyond her family’s USA Network series into independent media ventures as she entered her late twenties.
