Cardi B has revealed her baby son’s name on his first birthday.
The rapper, 34, announced that the boy she shares with NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs is named Grey Marsean Diggs. She disclosed the name in an Instagram post last Friday while the family hosted a Grey’s Anatomy-themed first birthday party for him.
“It’s only been 1 year since meeting you but it feels like I’ve had you at my side forever,” Cardi wrote in the caption, addressing her son directly.
She reflected on carrying him during a turbulent period. “I carried you through one of the most uncertain high pressured times of my life,” she wrote. “I was growing you inside of me and at the same time you were giving me life! You gave a new meaning to what a Grey day feels like.”
“You light up my life and every room with your smile your laugh and your precious spirit,” she added in the same post.
Grey arrived last November, though the family initially shared only that mother and baby were “healthy and happy” without revealing his name. He is Cardi’s fourth child. She also shares daughter Kulture Kiari, 8, son Wave Set, 5, and daughter Blossom Belle, 2, with her estranged husband, rapper Offset.
Cardi first disclosed her pregnancy with Diggs’ child during a CBS Mornings interview with Gayle King that aired in September 2025. “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” she told the anchor in the pre-taped segment.
“I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work – but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby,” she said at the time.
The name reveal comes as Cardi has spoken about building financial security for her children beyond her music career. In a September interview with Entertainment Tonight, she explained her motivation for expanding into business ventures like her haircare line, Grow Good.
“I was panicking. It’s like, yo, I leave this earth and my kids [are] going to have just music royalties that they’re most [likely] going to have to be arguing people about it,” she said.
She continued: “They’re going to have a couple of properties and a couple of liquid money, but it’s like what is something that God forbid something happens to me, I leave behind that is for them?”
Of Grow Good specifically, she added, “This is, God forbid, something happened to me; this is theirs.”
Cardi and Diggs have kept much of their relationship private since they were first linked, though the football player has appeared in some of her social media posts. The Grey’s Anatomy party theme appeared to nod directly to their son’s name, with the medical drama providing a playful framework for the celebration.
The couple’s decision to withhold Grey’s name for his first year followed a pattern of careful boundary-setting around their children’s public exposure, even as Cardi has remained one of hip-hop’s most visible personalities.
Cardi is expected to continue promoting her business ventures while balancing her expanded family responsibilities.
