Ross Lynch, 30, confirmed he is married while speaking to People at Thursday’s “Heartland” premiere in Los Angeles, where photographers spotted a wedding band on his left hand.
The former Disney Channel star did not name his wife, explaining that she prefers to stay out of the public eye.
“Yes, yes I am [married],” Lynch told the outlet on the red carpet.
The “Austin & Ally” alum emphasized that the secrecy was not his own choice. “I am trying to be sensitive towards that and respectful to her,” he continued, adding that his wife is “not very fond of celebrity.”
Lynch stressed he was “not trying to shy away” from sharing the news “by any means.”
Despite keeping his partner’s identity private, the “Teen Beach Movie” actor offered a brief update on their life together. “Everything’s going well,” he shared.
Speculation about Lynch’s marital status first ignited in June when he returned to Instagram after a yearlong break. In a carousel post captioned, “Been a minute, what did I miss?,” fans noticed a ring on his finger. When one commenter wrote, “more like what did WE miss? 🤨💍,” Lynch fired back, “hahahaha A LOT.”
The exchange fueled weeks of online guessing about a secret wedding.
Before this marriage, Lynch had publicly confirmed only two relationships. He dated actress Courtney Eaton, going Instagram-official in 2015 before their 2017 split. From 2018 to 2022, he was with “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” co-star Jaz Sinclair, making their red carpet debut in 2020.
Lynch has largely stepped back from acting to focus on The Driver Era, the band he formed with his brother Rocky Lynch. “Heartland” represents his first acting role since 2020, apart from appearing as the lead in Troye Sivan’s “Look at You” music video in 2023.
The musician said he welcomed the return to set. “I was excited to be acting again for sure,” he remarked Thursday. “It was nice to be on set.”
Lynch indicated that stepping away from the spotlight has suited him. He noted that “focusing a lot on [his] private life recently … has been feeling really gratifying,” though he remains open to future projects. “Definitely excited about future” roles, he added.
