Meet The Man Who Can Hold A Plank For FIVE Hours

If you think your one-minute plank is impressive, think again.

George E. Hood of California has just shattered the world record for the longest abdominal plank, clocking in at a whopping five hours and 15 minutes.

Remarkably, the 57-year-old ultra endurance athlete only started to feel the discomfort after an astounding two hours.

With the help of his dedicated team, George was able to hold the position for another three hours. The team tried to keep George as comfortable as possible by keeping him hydrated and placing ice chips on his elbows, as well as providing him with much-needed distractions.

“I look for every bit of distraction I can get,” he said, wincing with the effort.

George, a former Marine and retired DEA agent, was hoping to beat the previous world record held at four hours and 23 minutes to raise funds for the Semper Fi Fund, a charity dedicated to helping injured Marines.

“This is the least I could do. And the discomfort I’m feeling right now pales in comparison to that which they’ve experienced on the battlefield. Trust me when I tell you that,” he said.

What a guy!
