School Choir Brings Teacher With Cancer To Tears With Beautiful Rendition Of “I’m Gonna Love You Through It”

You may know of a school choir called the Staten Island PS22 Chorus, who are well known for their amazing cover songs that are often posted on their YouTube channel.

This past week, for their final class of the school year, the chorus performed in honor of a fourth grade PS22 teacher who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Adriana Lopez was serenaded with a heart-felt rendition of Martina McBride’s Grammy-nominated song “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”

“She’s one of those teachers. She’s one of the unsung heroes, and it was time for her to be sung to,” said PS22’s director, Gregg Breinberg.

Ms Lopez couldn’t keep her tears from flowing as the fifth grade chorus sang to her.

When they pulled out pink carnations,  a symbol of support for breast cancer survivors, the emotional teacher had to cover her face.

The song tells the story of supporting a cancer patient through even their darkest hours.

The students surround Ms Lopez after their performance.
