Convict Who Spent 61 Hours Protesting On Prison Roof Lured Down With Pizza And Coke

Stuart Horner, 35, is a convicted murderer who is currently serving time at HMP Manchester, UK.

On Sunday, Horner took to the roof of the maximum security prison in protest over conditions.

He was up there for 61 hours, at times wearing nothing but his underwear.

How did authorities get him down? According to Manchester Evening News, with pizza and a can of coke (of course).

He was handcuffed and put on to a cherry picker by guards at 3am on Wednesday morning.

Passersby and local residents saw the funny side of the incident, with a man in a nearby car playing “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins while police tried to negotiate with the prisoner.

While he was up there, Horner used the opportunity to smash windows, tear up roofing and damage CCTV cameras – which led to 60 prisoners being moved to other prisons for their own safety.

Horner is serving a life sentence, with a minimum of 27 years, for the murder of his uncle in 2011.
