Eugene Finney was visiting Huntington Beach when the predator began to ram into his back, causing him incredible pain. Luckily, he managed to escape the dramatic encounter with nothing more than a scar on his back. Or so he thought.
The excruciating pain persisted and spread to his chest, so a worried Finney went back to his doctors. It was then they discovered a walnut-sized cancerous growth on his right kidney.
“If this didn’t happen with the shark, causing me to go in with this chest pain, I would have never known about this cancer.”
The local council has since closed the beach to ensure the safety of other visitors.
