Artist Documents His Progress From Age 2 To 28 To Show How Far He’s Come

Hong Kong-based artist Marc Allante’s portfolio includes (unusually) work from his early childhood, showing his progression as a painter from the age of two right up to 28.

From kid’s sketches to more advanced drawings and developing his own style, it’s incredible to see Marc’s skills progressing throughout his life.

Age 2.

“I think with enough practice and patience, anyone has the ability to learn to draw and create art,” says Marc.

Age 3.

“I was lucky enough to start very early and be encouraged by my family, but I don’t think it’s ever too late to give it a go!”

“I was in corporate finance and insurance [when] I lost my mother very abruptly to cancer which made me re-evaluate a lot of the priorities in my life.”

Age 19.

“Ultimately, I felt that I would deeply regret not giving an art career a proper shot.”

Age 20.

“I am usually grinning like an idiot most of the time and [I’m] the happiest I have been in a very long time.”

Age 22.

“I think it’s rare for anyone to be able to make a living doing what they love so I know I have been stupidly, fabulously lucky!”

Age 23.

“At the same time, I am working harder than I ever have in my life as I don’t want to rest on my laurels (or luck).”
