A US-based company has come up with an innovative way for people to commemorate or just recreate their beloved animals — by creating life-like plush toys of pets.
Cuddle Clones specializes in creating custom-made, super realistic versions of pets.
Founder Jennifer Graham came up with the idea after her Great Dane, Rufus, passed away and she wanted a plush replica that was “100% custom-made to look just like him”.
Handmade and fully customizable so pet owners can create an exact replica of their pet, prices for these “clones” start at around $179.
You simply upload a photo to the site and wait a few months for your bespoke Cuddle Clone to arrive.
One buyer who recreated her dog Kahlua said of her toy, “She’s beautiful and the attention to detail and care that was put into it literally had made my year.”
Cuddle clones aren’t just for cats and dogs though — they’ve made horses, guinea pigs and even this, admittedly adorable, cow.
The range extends from inches-high models to life-size plush animals and even, er, golf club covers to see your favorite pet impaled on a pole.
They don’t have to be commemorative; some pet lovers simply want a look-alike soft toy for their pets. This cat doesn’t seem too sure.
