This Is What Atreyu from “The Neverending Story” Looks Like Now

The 1984 film The Neverending Story is undoubtably a classic. It’s a gripping story within a story about a boy reading about a magical world named Fantasia that is under threat of being destroyed by The Nothing.

The film’s hero Atreyu was played by then 12-year-old Noah Hathaway.

He acted brilliantly in iconic scenes such as this one where he loses his beloved horse Artax in the Swamp of Sadness.

The film went on to become a cult classic, and it made Hathaway a teen idol.

But like many child actors, he soon disappeared from the spotlight. He is reported to have dabbled as a mortgage broker, tattoo artist, dancer, martial arts trainer, motorcycle builder, and racer.

Now, the 44-year-old is making a comeback and we couldnt be happier. Here he is in all his glory:

We can’t believe it’s been over three decades…

But he’ll always be Atreyu to us.
